Check your Rain-proof EZ Breeze™ 350CFM bathroom power vent

I have a 2016 28.5 RSTS with the Rain-proof EZ Breeze™ 350CFM bathroom power vent. I was replacing it with a MaxxAir Fan and found the cover was cracked on both sides where the rain/sloped vent is. I took it to the dealer and asked if it was covered under warranty - of course, it was. I was told they have replaced several of them and they received the OK from Jayco to use the standard MaxxAir fan (non-remote) as a replacement. They knew I replaced the one I brought in, but said to take the new one and keep as a backup since it was a warranty repair! It looks like the plastic is very thin at those points and the sun just cracks it. I'd encourage you to check yours out!

Mine did the same thing earlier this year. Started raining then I noticed the leak. When we got home climbed up on the roof and one side was completely gone along the "hinge" portion and the other side was cracked along the entire "hinge" on that side. Due to previous issues with the local repair shop and warranty work I just opted to change it out myself I used a fantastic vent fan to replace it. Took about an hour to hour and half to swap them out.

I'm glad you said something! I just dropped my trailer at the dealer yesterday to have that exact problem fixed along with a few other small issues I will be on the phone first thing tomorrow morning to see if I can get it replaced with the MaxxAir too.
Thanks again,

Kevin

I don't know if mine is cracked but it does open by itself which isn't good.

Oh yeah, it disintegrates very quickly. The dealer replaced mine with a Fantastic fan vent under warranty & threw in a Maxair II cover to boot. It had cracked while on the lot and leaked before I purchased the camper. It is in for more warranty work now, one item is replacing the bathroom counter because it was swollen from the leak.

I have the same issue on my 2016 29.5 BHDS. Once i can get it to the dealer i will be asking about the fantastic fan instead of the stock one.

Thanks to this thread, I checked mine and just sent the pictures of the failing cover to the dealer to start the warranty claim. Thanks for sparing me having to wait for water damage before finding it.

I have a new 321 and this is the 2nd time we have had it. It rained Saturday night and I almost felt like they was nothing up there, it poured in thru the cover. It is at the dealer now and I hope they don't put the same thing back on !!

I would call your dealer and tell them you talked to a few people on the Jayco forum with the same problem and Jayco approved there dealers to replace the original fan with a MaxxAir.... See if they will do the same.

I talked with Jayco last week after a slow response from my dealer. Jayco told me they will be sending the dealer, if they ever file the claim, a new version of the same vent. It is supposed to have a dome with more UV protectant in it. Couldn't get them to go for a different fan, so I bought the one I wanted and the dealer will be installing that one and I will have the EZ Breeze for my "stock"

I just wrote Jayco thru their site we will see what they say. I am going to try and contact them tomorrow via phone also. I don't really like the EX Breeze idea, to me it doesn't look to have much protection from rain. Mine had a river pouring thru it Sat evening. Wife couldn't get the towels don't quick enough before it ponded in the floor, Grrrrr.

For those getting a new bathroom vent/fan, spend the extra money and get the remote. It is a lot nicer. We couldn't open our bathroom vent without using a step stool.

Jayco replied to me today and told me they would replace it with the OEM one of course but if I wanted something different then I would just have to pay the difference to the dealer for the part. Now I am thinking on what to do. Do I go back with the EzBreeze and hope nothing else happens and if so then push for a MaxxAir or just go ahead and pay the difference for the MaxAir now ??

Why hope? I'd pay the difference and get the Maxxair. The cost difference can't be much right?

Just spoke to my dealer and Jayco told them the EZ fan is $37 so not close to the Maxxfan price - so back on the phone with Jayco.

Based on the performance of this fan, I believe the price.
