Chevy 3500 towing a jayco 29.5

Simply awesome, just bought a 2014 jayco 29.5 bhds about three weeks ago and my 1/2 ton f150 wouldn't cut the mustard, mainly because of the 6 inch lift or the 35 inch tires. lol To make this post even better i got the green light to buy a new truck. My wife claims that i was out the door before she finished her sentence. I just came home from purchasing a 2014 chevy 3500 4x4.

Trying to find any jayco owner out there that can shed some light on a couple of things:

1 any owner have this set up and how well does it tow
2 how high will the nose be and should i be concerned
3 how low is your hitch set and how high is your king pin set.

I am waiting for my curt 16k hitch to come in and would like to test our our new camper next weekend but i don't want it to be an epic failure or unsafe when towing the camper. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a 30.5 Eagle on a Ram 3500. I have a super glide hitch, so I'm already high on the pin box, but I'm nose high and plan on moving the trailer leaf springs to the lower setting to try to raise the back of the 5er. Still expect to be nose high, but it tows well... No issues.

U might run into a nose high issue with a one ton truck and a half ton towable diver. I experienced it before signing on dotted line so needless to say I didn't get that fiver

New truck and trailer.. hope you kissed the wife and got her flowers..
My buddy has a 3500 D-max and a 40' whatever 5er it has maxed out his truck but it still goes cross country twice a year.. but only gets 4 mpg.. so your 29' should be no trouble.. ENJOY..

Thanks for the feed back. My hitch should be in this afternoon and hopefully my schedule will allow me to install it tonight. I will post pics once complete.

I'm in a 2015 3500 Sierra SRW.

We tow a 38FLSA with it without issues - Truck and Trailer together are 24,160 and I have had Zero issues pulling anywhere I'd like to camp.

Additionally I average (I'm in a duramax/Allison combo truck) about 12.5MPG @ 70mph loaded for camping for a week or two.

I tow a 2014 Jayco Eagle 33.5RETS. Right at 11,000 pounds loaded. That was with a 2007 RAm 2500 with the 5.9L Cummins. Just bought the 2015 Ram 2500 with the Outdoorsman package and 6.7L Cummins. That dude is a hoss compared to the others. With the stock set up she may sit just a tad nose high but hardly noticeable. Could probably make some adjustments but for the small difference, don't think it is worth it. Last trip we were averaging 15.9 miles to the gallon. That was on mostly level roads. Not into the hills yet but before too long.

Many forums have a rule, without pics it ain't so.
But that's OK, I'm a Blue Oval guy.
