Reading on the web found this - if it's been there for a while, spray with vinegar let it sit a while. Mix baking soda and salt with water to make a paste. Smear it on the vinegary surface with a damp sponge. Rinse with water. Repeat if necessary.

It's very helpful to not use bar soap in any shower. Bar soap has fat in it that combines with the minerals to make scum on the glass and shower pan. If you switch everybody to body wash the problem go's away like magic. Body wash is detergent and does not combine with the minerals in water.. I made the switch in my home and the pan and glass stays clean, but it also helps to squeegee the glass also.

Straight white vinegar will do the trick.

Shower doors

Try rubbing alcohol and water if it’s not too bad. Squeegee daily and alcohol mix 1 week. A water filter would help

Squeegee and wipe down after each use keeps ‘em looking like new. Never have to worry about hard water, soap scum, etc.

Cleaning shower door

I use a Norwex cloth with water and a little apple cider vinegar added. I wash the glass at least once a week. I use the Norwex polishing cloth after to clean the glass to a shine. After every shower I wipe the doors using the same Norwex cleaning cloth. I also have a water softener that helps with the overall problem of the hard water while in Arizona.

Shower doors cleaning

My advice is take out the shower doors and replace them with a. Stromberg Carlton extende-a- rod. Amazon has then for $32. You’ll love it

cleaning shower and stubborn water spots

I have a spray bottle mixture of water, dawn dish detergent and white cleaning vinegar.... I spray and let sit for short time and wipe off. It has kept our shower door clean as new. I also use it for the sinks and the toilet. Smells strong at first but odor dissipates quickly.

Here is what we use at home in our glass enclosed shower. It works better than anything you can buy commercially. Simple to make. in a spray bottle put equal parts water, vinegar, Dawn dish soap. Spray on let sit for a few minutes and wipe down with a scrub pad. Also for cleaning your windows and mirrors forget the Windex or other crap commercial products. For a streak free clean use the cheapest windshield washer you can buy and put it into a spray bottle. Use a squeegie and paper towels. You'll be amazed. No haze left on the glass. Cheers from an old guy

Even with a water softener they were a PIA. Rattling and banging over rough roads and just not something we wanted to deal with all of the time. You will find a number of threads on this solution. Easy to install, self cleaning, and about 50 or more pounds less in the rig.

I hung a tension bar and put a shower curtain on it. Now the doors do not get dirty at all.

Ours get wiped down and dried after every shower. After 5 years they still look new.

I'm in the Magic Eraser camp. Tthey were originally sold to clean the bathroom of soap scum. They're now used for all kinds of cleaning jobs. We don't need any cleaning 'sauce' to help out.

BOUNCE DRYER SHEETS.
I have no idea why, but they cut through any scum or soap buildup like magic.
White Vinegar is slightly acidic and terrific for removing hard water deposits.

I had no idea about the dryer sheets, but I saw a tip on shower residue that recommended them. I was stunned. They may be toxic chemical waste, but they work like magic.
