Clearance between bed rail and fifth wheel nose

While my fifth wheel was at the dealer getting service work I purchased a new Ram 2500 4x4 and got a mopar hitch from the dealer. When I went to pick up the fifth wheel the tech there suggested raising the hitch height as he was not happy with the clearance between nose and bed rail. They raised it up 2 notches and I wonder if that was a bit much. It is a pain unhitching but that may be a mopar thing. I have to keep trying to get the right combination of raising the camper up off the hitch and rocking the camper back or forth to be able to pull the release handle. Takes a lot of effort figuring out the right combination. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Can't specifically answer your question. However, in 2016, the management of a campground came & asked us to help someone unhitch their RAM from their 5ver. The RAM was brand new & apparently they were not given good direction on disconnecting. There was a combination of buttons they had to push to disconnect. It wasn't the trailer but more of the truck. Good luck.

Here's a video about solving the unhitch issue with your setup. Maybe is same problem/solution for you? https://youtu.be/6HR5QbHnf0c

That Ram hitch in the video looks like a Curt built hitch all.day long. Curt make a nice hitch.
Heres what you can do, set the trailer height so it couples with little to no down pressure on the hitch. Take a measurement from the ground to something on your truck. Raise the front jacks untill they are off the ground and take another measurement at the same place on the truck. This determines how much squat your trailer puts on your truck. Say it squats the truck 1 1/4". When you get to your destination, keep reverse pressure on the pin and drop your front jacks. When they contact the ground lift the trailer an inch or a smidge more. This way a majority of the weight is off the hitch but still has a little down pressure. Pull your lever and flip the latch into the open slot to keep it locked open and drive away.
Coupling is about the same, you want the pinbox just a little lower than the hitch so it rides up the ramp and couples up properly.
