Clothes coming off rod

Hello everyone I have a issue mabey someone out there has an easy fix for. My fifth wheel has a closet in the rear bunk area that the clothes always pop up off the rod when traveling. Just a bit annoying to have to rehang all the clothes all the time.

Are the hangers coming off the rod, or the clothes coming off the hangers? There are "sticky" hangers that grip the clothes better, and hotel hangers, (a loop instead of a hook on top. will never pop off the rod).

The hangers are coming off the rod. The hotel type could be an idea. We usually haul all our clothes out to the camper on hangers though.

Lynx Hangars. They would work in the house too.

We had that issue on our previous unit. We bought some cheap spring loaded adjustable curtain rods ( about 1/2" diameter) that were the appropriate length for the space. We installed them before departure, put them just below the rod and at the top of the hangers. That way we did not have to replace or re-invent all the hangers.

We had that issue and added foam pipe over the road. Hangers would dig into it a bit

Albeit more expensive than fancy coat hangers, a set of shock absorbers would take care of more than just coat hangers...........would save a lot of other stuff from falling apart.

Thanks for all the input. When camping season actually starts around my part of the country I will try some of these ideas.

I wonder if cutting a pool noodle down the length of it, then wrapping it over the bar (over top of the hangers) would be sufficient?

Years ago (when I bought my first trailer) I was having the same problem. Happened to find the solution at Camping World (but they no longer carry them): Lynx "Stay-Put" non-slip plastic hangers. The hook at the top is bent over more than on a regular plastic hanger, so it "pinches" the rod to prevent the hangers from popping off. They really work well!

You can find them at Walmart.com or amazon for $7.22 for a 6-pack.

Clothes coming off clothes rod

I had this problem too.....Bought online (CampingWorld) the Non-Slip hangers that pinch onto the rod and they work GREAT!
I believe you can buy them on Amazon as well.
I also had the issue of the rod jumping off and all clothes dropping to the floor.
Realized there was a small gap between rod and the wall mount. I cut a round circle of adhesive velcro, putting one on the rod and other piece on the wall mount then slid the rod back into the mount (it was tight) but it has worked wonderfully since. No more rod falling down and with the pinch on hangers the clothes stay on too.

Well if all my tax money was put into road repairs vs supporting illegals the roads would be smooth as glass.

I finally figured out a no cost to me solution. I had pieces of a bed topper I had cut down for one of the bunks. I just folded one of the spare pieces over and wedged it above the rack.

This thread made me smile.
Oddly we haven’t had this problem BUT I-10 between Beaumont and the I-12 New Orleans bypass regularly opens drawers, broke my televador a few years back (plastic gears) and cracked 4 eggs on our last return from the Florida panhandle.
Rough piece of road!

X2 on your agreement. Pretty sad when fan blades break off going thru PA.
They need to start charging the average mile driven per year in Fed fuel tax to these electric vehicles. They pay nada in Fed, state and local gas tax.
