Come with batteries?

I have a new Eagle 5th wheel on the way.

Do the batteries come with it?

It's my understanding that the only 5th wheels that come from the "manufacture" with a battery are units that have hydraulic landing gear. In almost all other cases the batteries for all 5th wheels, TT's ,HTT's, etc., the RV dealer supplies and installs them. Your RV dealer can tell you what type of battery he will install.

See if you can get him to install (2) 6V Deep Cycle batteries for no additional cost (nice upgrade from the single 12V Marine/RV battery they most often install)!

My 365BHS came with one; however, when we traded in our 325BHS they took one of the batteries from it (since I had two) and put it in my new 365BHS for a total of two. You WANT both batteries. If they will not give you one, spend the ~$125 for the second. Also... Put a quick disconnect in the battery compartment - I did and it REALLY saves battery life!

Thanks for the info.

Actually, the 2012 model comes with a battery disconnect in the battery compartment. When do you disconnect it?

In my opinion, a good RV dealer provides a battery with anything he sells (mine does for sure). Will it be a great one, probably not - but there should be one. There have been folks here that said they left the lot with NO battery - big mistake - break away switch will not function.

On the disconnect - how do you plan to store it? Some folks store with trailer plugged in 24x7 (I do) so I dont disconnect - just keep a closer eye on water levels. Others throw the disconnect and put on a trickle charger like a Battery Tender. Still others throw the disconnect and leave it for a couple of weeks between uses. If you keep the battery connected for long periods with no charge souce, it will go dead from things like LP detectors, antenna amp, etc.

If you plan to store it more than a few weeks without power, I would pull the battery and keep it at home on a good trickle charger - it will last a lot longer.

Mine came with a single Group-24 battery.

The battery compartment is designed to hold two Group-27's.

Our Eagle came with two batteries. I wish I had asked for 6V but in all the excitement I forgot. We always stop where we can plug in so it really isn't an issue with me.

Legally it cannot leave the dealers lot without one so they should supply it (you need to have the breakaway switch powered)

I finalized the order today, and I am getting 2 6 Volt batteries. I have to pay for one.

Hey! That seems like a good deal....a good 6 volt is generally more expensive than a deep cycle 12 volt (at least around here)....
