If all our "can I tow this TT with this TV" questions were about setups like that, it would be easier to answer.

Not true! The larger units pay more/mile at several transport companies. Two friends of mine do it for a living and they get about $0.25 more/mile on the larger units. Both have CDLs as do I, and they can legally tranport the larger units.

In California....
If you are being paid to tow the RV, you need a commercial DL.
As a private citizen, towing for your own personal use, once you exceed 40' as a single vehicle or towing a 10k GVWR of a trailer/5er you need a CDL.

Truck has USDOT #'s so CDL is needed ,as I understand it .
here in Tx pulling/driving your personnel RV you don't need a CDL ,BUT if rig exceeds 26000lb GVWR with a few caveats you need a" class A non CDL".which I have.

License requirements vary from state to state...
When I delivered trailers for Jayco, I had a Michigan Chauffeur License. I delivered all kinds of trailers from bungalow to a small one with surge brakes.
I was under contract to Jet Transportation (Jayco's delivery division) and had a magnetic sign with Jet's DOT number. I had to follow all the same DOT rules as a CDL driver regarding log books, hours, etc.
The truck at the beginning of this topic appears to be under contract to Star; one of many other companies that deliver RVs. It appears he has a magnetic sign that has been trimmed.

Hey guys, did not mean to start such a controversy. Just point out the local pilot store where this guy had pulled in for fuel. I know there was a topic on here somewhere about commercial transport but for the life of me I could not find it so just posted the pictures here. This guy hauls whatever they have for him to haul/deliver so he has the truck for whatever they throw at him. Just thought you would enjoy the pictures.

Licence requirement is by your home state / province. For example in Nova Scotia I can legally gross 30,864 lbs with my drivers license that has an endorsement for trailers over 10k lbs. Next door in New Brunswick I would need to upgrade my licence to a higher class.

Looks like a fancy paint Chev S10 with roof lights to me.
I'm reasonable sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
