Condensation

How do you deal with condensation on the interior of your RV in cold weather? I had standing water in my duct work (furnace was running) on our last outing. Was cold out doors and we had the heat on all weekend. Called my dealer and he said more than likely it was condensation.Thanks.

Crack open some windows, keep air moving with a fan.. condensation is typical.

You have less than 1/2 the insulation in walls and ceilings, compared to a stick and brick.
No room for more.

What wags999 said, plus be sure to use the exhaust fan when bathing/showering, cooking, doing dishes to move the humidity outside before it becomes condensation.

If you are in a humid area, condensation will be a continuing challenge.

You aren't using a portable propane heater inside, are you? Those add to the interior humidity.

dehumidifier

We use a dehumidifier. Adds a little heat for winter camping. Does not overwork the AC in the summer. Keeps the interior humidity at 35-40 percent. Just make sure you have adequate reserve power for this appliance.

Using a small electric heater to.supplement the furnace also helps since it is a dry heat.

Dehumidifier is probably your best bet. Being inside a closed box for long periods of time during the cooler months with people breathing will cause condensation like a waterfall. Been there before and the condensation stops after we leave for long periods of time. Doesn't help running your heater a lot at higher temps either.

The walls with the windows in our bed slide condensate like it's leaking. Nope, just from the body moisture while we sleep. I couldn't imagine how bad it would be if we had single pane windows. Fortunately that's the only place and the only time we get condensation. I believe the dual pane windows help a lot for that.
I'm going ot look into a small dehumidifier for when we camp in the spring and fall. Heck it would help the AC units too. Very humid in Pennsylvania.
But we do run the range vent while cooking and the bathroom vent while showering and for a while after.

We were just at the Grand Canyon and it got down to 9 degrees. We left both of the roof vents cracked and ran a space heater to help. Ran the bathroom fan when showering. No condensation issues at all. About to install Maxxair vent covers tomorrow so we can leave the vents open further.
