No, my experience is most are just ignorant. They are there to sell cars, trucks, whatever. They have their script and selling points they are told to highlight.

I've had them tell me a truck had an independent rear suspension, disks when it had drums and 4WD when it was a 2WD (that was even on the sticker).

PS forgot the other stuff. GMC salesman saying GMC were so much better than Chevy trucks. Mazda salesman saying price was higher than a Ford cause it was built on a stronger chassis (they were the same truck).

I have both types as well. The 5th wheel towing is safer and easier than any bumper pull.
The overall length is less as well. You will not see a 5th wheel jackknife and flip the tow rig... other than the turning and backing radius, which are simple to adjust to, there is no comparison to towing, hooking up, disconnecting, etc.

FWIW, I have seen two fifth wheel rigs flipped. One ran off the side of the road before it flipped. Never found out why it crashed.

Second was a jackknife and rollover on a Phx freeway. Front tire blew on the TV. Driver was killed. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected as it rolled.

I have seen more TT's than I care to count off the side of the road on their sides. Most of the time in areas where there are strong cross winds.

They are not the only one's that are ignorant ? I bought a F150 to pull a 5er- a $4000 mistake. But I don't believe in exceeding payload and I think I'am in the minority.

I am the OP. I do believe everything with my current TT is in order. While traveling at interstate speed(or less) the is no sway, dancing, etc. Guess I'm looking for opinions related to the TT vs. a 5er while towing. I understand the storage in the bed of the truck will be reduced. My truck is a 2013 2500 6.0 short bed.

Just went from a 31' TT to a 31' 27.5RLTS 5er. Night and day difference- also owned a 34' MH. Hands down the 5er handles the best ! The fatigue factor is much less on the 5er, more storage space, easier hookup. We also have a 2500 HD, 2016, 6.5' bed and a Revolution Pin box with the Reese hitch. Yes there less storage in truck bed.

What you want to put in the truck bed will depend upon the pin weight of the 5er you buy, plus passengers, hitch etc: For example if you have a available payload (door sticker) of 2700 lbs minus 600lbs( hitch, passengers etc minus 2100 lbs ( loaded pin weight) you should not use the truck bed for storage. ( Of course I'm assuming you want to stay within Mfg.recommendations ) A typical 5er will have much more storage than a typical TT

I pull my 31 foot fifth wheel with F250 diesel with a 6'7" bed and a Reese Revolution hitch. The fiver pulls great with no sway in the wind or because of trucks. If your concerned about losing storage space in the pickup bed, don't forget that you will have considerable storage space available in the fiver's basement that you probably didn't have it the TT.
