Need a hose to get you from the disconet to your grill. If your grill has a regulator we removed ours found the fittings at home depot. And found U tube video on how to install. Was easier than I thought.First time using camper propane forgot to shut grill completely off drained all propane from the camper. You know old guy stuff lol!

Go to camping world or some other rv store or maybe even hardware store that sells propane grills and they should have an adapter hose for you. Maybe even Walmart. Just tell them what u wanna do and they should be able to help. See if this link helps. https://www.campingworld.com/12-quic...-assembly-hose

Look on etrailer.com that's where I bought my hose to connect to my grill.
Happy cooking,
Chris

There's a thread on these forums that explains it very thoroughly:

https://www.jaycoowners.com/forums/f...t-26080-4.html

I did it on our Weber Q1000 and have never looked back. I hate those little bottles.

I hate those little bottles as well. I’m still looking to convert my Coleman stove so it will connect to the trailer. Dang, but how I hate parts that are proprietary...

My COLEMAN ROAD TRIP grill also uses the 1LB canisters as well. For us however I never thought about changing it over to the propane tank .

Our back-up heat for when we are camping OFF-GRID is one of those MR BUDDY heaters so I need propane canisters for that. I can use the propane furnace but we really hate to have the loud fan going all the time and also the fan is 12VDC so it is a major drain on our battery bank...

I keep two or three of those two canister packs on hand hand all the time...

Since we camp off the grid almost all the time I have been thinking of removing our roof mounted Air Conditioner so I can put up Solar Panels... Guess I should think about removing the on-board high heat output propane furnace as well... We very seldom use it or the roof mounted Air Conditioner.

Replace the Propane heater with a simple Hydronic smaller heater re-circulating our hot water from the hot water heater through it in a closed loop and add a second 14-inch fantastic fan in the roof hole where the Air Conditioner was mounted...

Always something...

For those who use 1lb. canisters we have been refilling them for 25 years.Once filled we spray a little windex on the top any bubbles we pitch them. Always a few empty canister in the park dumpsters!

I bought the adapter for 20lb tank. I keep a couple 20lb tanks around camp. I thought about connecting to camper propane, but it's not near where I will put my Blackstone griddle. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I converted my RoadTrip and relocated the propane line from the back of the trailer to the side of the entry step.

Will be doing it again as I plan to replace the RoadTrip this summer, don't like the way it cooks.

I've used this place to get what was needed for my Blackstone griddle & my portable fire pit. Very good to deal with, call them and they get you fixed up; Propane Gear - Heaters, stoves, torches and all of the hoses and regulators to connect them.

I liked the mod on our Weber so much that I did the same to our propane fire pit. Fifteen foot hose, and the ten foot extension that I use for the Weber gives me 25 feet of propane hose, so I can put it anywhere I want on the campsite.

Here it is after the mod when I hooked it up to the trailer at home to test it:

I used one of these from my coleman to my quick disconnect: Easy to use bottles or the quick connect.

I’ll have to look into it. I would like to retain the ability to use the 1lb tanks if able. In case we decide to venture away from the campsite.

I bought a Y connector and the proper hoses from Wallymart so I could connect a 20 lb. tank to both my Weber grill and my Coleman stove. No worries about running down the main trailer tank and the extra tank serves as a backup in case the main one runs out.

I can always go back to the 1 lb tanks if I want because nothing has been changed on the stoves.

As Pappyt2, Westray, Christb-24, a few others and myself have mentioned, there are hoses with different suppliers that will fit. (just make sure you get the right one). You screw the hose into the grill where the bottle fits in, don't even remove the regulator from the grill, the other end into the trailer quick connect. no modifications to either, and you can unscrew the hose off the grill (or other 1 lbs bottle equipment) and screw on a small bottle right on. I carry a few 1 lbs in case we wander away from the RV site and want to grill on a picnic. .. just remember as a to turn the gas valve off at the trailer quick disconnect when done. I don't trust those little grills, a small bottle is one thing to leak out if a problem, but to have a large tank hooked up with all that LP all the time. I like cooking with gas, but don't trust it.
