Convert to lithium battery

I’m planning on installing a lithium battery in my Eagle. I have purchased a converter replacement. I have a concern about charging the battery when driving. With a limited understanding I don’t want to possibly destroy my truck alternator. How can or if I can disconnect my house (lithium) battery from the truck during the travel time. I'm not really interested in DC to DC charger. I’ve gotten two different responses from battery companies. One do nothing and one I should install a DC to DC charger. I’m looking for your experiences to guide me as I have gotten great advise in the past

Just pull the fuse under the hood.

I would either use the dc2dc charger if you wanted your truck to charge the trailer battery, or not charge the trailer battery at all by pulling the fuse (as Grumpy stated) or disconnecting that circuit. I would not simply do nothing though. I have the dc2dc charger and a lifepo4 battery, however mine is a class c.

I have 3 Battle Born Lithium’s and haven’t had any problems. The power feed from your tow vehicle has a fuse that will blow before you get even close to damaging your alternator. If you are really worried then pull the fuse like Grumpy said.

Fuse would be in the unit / 5th wheel, near the 5th wheel battery area.

His tow vehicle also has one in the fuse box under the hood for the charging circuit, that is the line he is concerned with.

But that should be between the batteries and converter not tow vehicle and batteries.
