Curtain wall screws

My window shades and accordian shades all have screw securing them to the wall. As all of the do. When it becomes necessary to remove the wall screws, i.e. to replace accordian shade cord, the screws do not stay tight. I was careful not to over tighten the screws. Does anyone know of a way to tighten wall screws?

Also changing accordian cord is easy.

For other similar situations, I've used a toothpick in the hole before inserting the screw. I haven't needed to do this (yet?) for my shades after replacing the string.

I too have added a small piece of wood like a toothpick into the holes so that the screws have something to bite on when going back in.

I have used gorilla glue with good success. You may have to trim some off after expansion.

I glued toothpicks and inserted them in the hole and let the glue dry. The screw is holding.

Thanks
