Custom factory order
We have owned two Heartland Big Horns and are currently considering a Jayco Pinnacle. The particular model we want and certain options are not available on any retail lot we can find. Do you know of any dealers that will take a factory order - we are in the Atlanta, GA area.

All dealers should do a factory order.

The dealers will place a customer order. However, Jayco only builds them with the options they list, no real customizing. Dealer might be willing to do some extra work post purchase.

There are a few unlisted options they will do too, but it’s always something that is on another model and easily transferred.
You have to go to spacecraft or someone like them if you want real custom options.

Any dealer should do a custom order if they have any brains. We custom ordered our two rigs and would not ever purchase lot stock.

What he said, I’ve always ordered my rv how I wanted it and it never had a bunch of people walking through it. But I’m pretty picky.

I ordered 3 slide toppers on my HT when ordering - much cheaper during the build. The model you are ordering- good possibility that is standard?!?

Jayco wouldn't do "custom". When I ordered mine, I specifically asked them to run a second run of wire (I would pay for it) with the existing solar prep. All they had to do was pull a second cable at the same time. They refused.
Then, when they decided to put the j-skirting back on the 2019s (first few builds didn't have it - they got complaints and changed their mind and decided to put it back on), they wouldn't put it on mine when they were building it. It hadn't even started production yet, they still wouldn't do it. Said since the 2019 schematics had not been updated yet they couldn't. All they had to do was use the 2018 schematic.
They shipped the metal to me (air freight in 14' wood crates). Then had to do it again because they sent the wrong stuff. I'm sure shipping alone cost them more than the labor if they had just put it on.
Maybe things have changed by now, but I doubt it.

Any dealer will be able to order the factory options. If they cant / wont, time to walk away. If they have one on the lot that does not quite have what you want, they may want you to purchase that one so then can get the unit off the books. You're call. They may be able to add the option too.
As for special customer mods at the factory, unless the factory is set up to do special mods, it is VERY difficult to do. (Order handling, materials, training etc.). It would seem easy, but it isnt. Proof of that is the reduction in the number of options available these days. The fewer parts / processes to track the better. Its also more cost efficient.

There may be fewer options being offered, but the new options they've added should be very popular, i.e., disc brakes. I would expect that they will eventually add Morryde IS.

Ha Ha - we bought our first RV from CW in Oakwood, GA - I could write a book about our expierences.
We bought our second unit in 2015 online from McGeorge Rolling Hills RV in Ashland, VA - a great expierence! Unfortunately Camping World bought them out so I will not be going back there.
Reflecting back at that time we had actually contacted several CW dealers to order the Big Horn we wanted and they all refused factory orders
I have contacted several Jayco dealers now and am waiting on pricing to determine the best deal.
This will be our first Pinnacle and we are looking forward to it

Everyone of those options are available on a Pinnacle.

Thanks for all of the help and advice. I have been on the Heartland Owners Forum for years. Usually whatever you need help on is just for the asking. It looks like this forum is the same.
We have actually narrowed our search down to our local Jayco dealer and it appears he has the best deal plus they are 45 minutes away.
We hope to place an order for a New36FBTS in a few days - will keep all posted
