Thumbs down Defective/Low Quality Tires

Purchased and picked up our 38FLSA on 9/29/15. Driving from NY to FL. Trip began on 10/16/15. Got to Jacksonville, FL. Had to replace tires on 11/3/15. Huge bubble on the exterior side. Apparently another huge bubble on the interior side. Would not take the chance that another bubble would develop or that we would have a blow-out, so we replaced four tires, described by the tire shop as "cargo tires" - those imported from overseas made of extremely low quality. Incredibly disappointed that we spent a great deal of money to make this purchase for our full-time living and this is just another incident of issues with this product. Shame, shame, shame on Jayco.

Put your claim in by Jayco with the pictures. Poor quality tires is a short coming on all their units. Also look if there is a recall on your removed tires.

Also, please report this to the NHTSA. There have been many reports of failed tires and yet no complaints, therefore no recalls are being made.

Don't feel like it is just Jayco. They all come with bottom of the line tires unless you insist on a upgrade.

Jayco will cover all tires and tire damage while under warranty. Just have to contact them and send them pictures. Not all dealers know this.

This is a fact. My neighbor asked me to look at his tires when I told him about mine, and he has the Towmax tires on his 5er too. His is a Montana. In his case, the tires have plenty of capacity (trailer GVWR is ~12K and tires hold 3520 each). From what I understand, this is not the case on many Jaycos.

That is exactly what 3 of our 5 tires looked like right after we picked up our 2015 FBTS. The 4th tire was even worse and it was the spare that was never used! We replaced all 5 tires with Goodyear. There was no option in 2015 to purchase better tires. Jayco would replace the tires under warranty, but only with the same tires.

What brand/make of tires were they?

Those are Rainier tires. The RV industry made a switch to them in 2o16.

Defective/Low Quality Tires

My rig came with E rated Goodyear Marathons. Not enough tire for my not overloaded rig. After 2 sets in 3 years, I upgraded to G rated.
Problem solved.
