Definition of a Lemon

Before my two year warranty was up I had to take my unit to the service center. It was there for six weeks. New roof, new suspension for sidewall tire rub on slide, two new crappers, generator work, trim made and installed over all wall seems that were lifting, new awning, new outriggers, kitchen slide rollers denting floor, and numerous other small issues.

I have done numerous repairs to this unit that were not big buck items. It has also spent part of its life in repair shops. This is its fourth time having major items repaired or replaced.

My 7 year extended warranty just ran out last week. It is currently in a shop being worked on for pre approved repairs. It is now getting a new main ac unit, new 1201 Norcold fridge, new TV ( third one), slide seals, basement door struts and a few other items. I cannot even list all the other repairs I have made.

I thank the warranty God for all he has given. For those who ask is a warranty worth it. I would think about 24k in covered repairs and parts would answer your question.

I just can not imagine a non mechanical person owning an RV. Thankfully that is all I have ever done as a USCG Aviation Structural Mechanic & FAA Certified Airframe Power-plant Mechanic (retired). Hopefully no more big buck items besides one more ac unit. Hopefully it will now make it through a few more years along with me (the old guy now).

If they're not, they need to have deep pockets.

And a lot of time without their unit.

I’m like Rock and my 7 years are up, it’s in for pre approved work. TV and it’s third Schwintek.
Now I should be around 12kin warranty work.

This summer I replaced a Schwintek slide with my buddy on his TT. Pulled the 12’ slide right out of the unit too.
I am now fully confident I can replace my Schwintek parts next time it breaks.

Klassic,
Make sure you 100% remember exactly how just in case I have to do mine.
Warranty did mine last year after my highway incident. That was a lifetime event I do not want again.
