Designer Series Going Away

I just heard that the Designer brand is going away. I am interested in a Designer 35RLTS, but can't buy until my home sells. The Eagle 351RLTS is the same floor plan, but I can't help but wonder what the differences are in these two units. The Eagle version is lighter and cheaper so something is different. Any ideas?
I heard that there is a new line coming from Jayco to replace the Designer series, but don't have details. Do any of you?
This new 5er for me will be for full time use, so I don't want to give up some quality that will be needed down the road.
Ed

I've found that when I have questions that my dealer can't answer, I have called Jayco directly and asked for the guy who gives the tour at the factory. I think his name is John (for the life of me his name is escaping me at the moment). He is very knowlegable and if he doesn't know the answer, he will pass you on to the person who can answer it.

Happy shopping Ed

What I received direct from Jayco after I asked for the specific differences, was a spreadsheet with 33 line items. This is a very specific list and much easier to compare than the normal marketing information.
I was surprised that Jayco would send this information, but was very pleased that they are so open about their products.
I'm still getting a Designer as soon as my house sells.

I've heard the Pinnacle will be nicer than the Designer and cost less.

I don't know about the 5'ers, but we were able to order our tt without carpeting. Unfortunately, they still put the carpet in the bedroom, but at least it's not in the main walkway. I think we had to pay $35 to do so.

Nicer and cheaper wouldn't break my heart. I will be getting one as soon as my house sells.

I'll be at the Jayco factory next week and if I had a "short" list of questions I'd ask 'em for ya. I'll be waiting for the work to be done, meaning I'll be close by for a week or so, and can hopefully post any answers then. If some have questions please remember a [SHORT] list.

Ask them why my 2010 designer blowes the 30 amp fuse if you raise the front landing gear to high/ even if it it is for a split second, it will blow the fuse,
Talked to 2 dealers both said that is "normal, don't raise it so high"

Pete, are you doing a tour? *WhooHoo* (Sorry, I can't remember what year 5'er you have).

You will be a gold mine opportunity for folks here; after a tour you have a wealth of knowlege. Knowing the questions to ask before the tour is essential...... ok maybe that is where the gold mine is though!

(My humble opinion.... Start a thread of what questions to ask when you get there for the tour)

[If John is still doing the tours, tell him we at Jayco Owners Forum say hi!]

Yes we plan on taking a tour of the factory; in fact we were invited to do so.

As to what 5er we've got, it's one of the smaller ones w/o some of the frills, etc the larger ones have. It’s a 33' (overall) Jay Flight. Without going in the backyard and looking I think it’s a 30.5 RLS. We like it but am thinking of getting a slightly larger one in a year or two. The wife thinks a Class A motorhome would be better and in some ways I have to agree but we'll see.

As for starting a thread for questions; at the risk of sounding off, I'll be glad to ask a reasonable number of questions for anyone on this list but think this thread should do as I’m sure most that view the forum on a regular basis have seen it. I hope no one will take offense but as mentioned, I'd like to keep the questions, assuming some have any, to a manageable length.

And yes, if John is still doing the tours I'll be happy to pass your good wishes on to him, no hugs and all that stuff though.

I am definitely going nuts. The S/B has been on the market for 15 months. It is priced right, but nothing is selling in my area. Oh well. I will just keep the faith. It only takes one.

RR Say hello to John McDonald. He should give the tour as he heads the visitor center. John is a great guy and very knowlegable of the Jayco Prods.
We were looking hard for a Designer but wanted to see a 37ft floor plan. John looked up all dealers in a 500 mile radius of the windy city. Got a call from him when the 37's were on line. John had the line bring one up to the visitor center so we could check it out. We ordered ours that day. I e-mailed John to let him know we were more than Kicking Tires. We have put about 6200 miles on our Designer that was born in Sept of last year and love it. We are in for service now for some Nickle Dime items then Back on the road to Cananda then down to Elkhart for 3 rallys.
