Digital thermostat upgrade

I bought a digital thermostat for my 355mbqs and upon arrival I noticed it is the one for a heat pump, which I presntly do not have in my ac unit. My question is will it still work with out the heat pump wire hooked up. Looking at the logic and the fact that the electric heat has to be selected I think it will but before I go replace it would like to see if anyone knows.

Thanks

I bought one of these Coleman 83303862 Digital Thermostat. It is made for RV. It has not been installed yet. It just arrived on Thursday. Today's project.

I know in my trailer the heat uses one lead vs 2 on a normal residential system i.e. fan and actual heat are the same lead where in a residential they'd be split. I don't see why not.
