Disconnect batteries

We are new to the Jayco world. Just bought a new 2020 Jayco 5th wheel 321rsts. We had a Silverback 5th wheel.
Although there is a battery disconnect in compartment, should we disconnect negative from batteries when we store for a week?

Yep! The CO2 propane detector is still powered as well as the one control for the jacks. It's pretty much kill the battery in a week

There are two batteries, do we need to disconnect both negatives. Haven't had time to take 5th wheel out yet, just brought it to storage and unloaded.

Yes disconnect both negatives. The batteries are wired in parallel so both need to be removed to break the circuit.

You should plan on installing your own disconnect right at the battery cables to avoid having to wrench on your terminals ever time you put her in storage.

I bought and installed a turn type switch and promptly had it bread the second time I used it. Now I have a simple $8 battery disconnect switch where you unscrew a big nut. Dead simple and 100% reliable. Sorry for giant image, don't know how to shrink.

I attached this set of clamps, which have a lot of connection options to multiple cables. But more importantly it's quick disconnect from the negative terminal but also a quick disconnect from both when you want to remove the battery.

Their easy removal also encourages easy cleaning of the connection without wrenches or other tools. It's also easy to adjust the clamping pressure with the thumbscrew, and you don't have to remember which cables go to which terminal, since they all stay together on the clamp.
