Dometic Power Awning

I have a 2015 Pinnacle with the 19' Dometic Power Awning. When fully extended, the angle of the awning is sharp enough that the doors of the 5ver are slightly rubbing the underside of the awning. Good thing they don't have sharp edges, or I'd have a tear in it.

I have hit the Dometic website and read the manual that came with the unit, but find no instructions on adjusting the angle of the awning so it clears the doors when they are used. I have fully extended the pitch knobs, but still no clearance.

Does anyone else have this issue and if so, how did you adjust the awning to clear the doors?

To gain the most door/awning fabric clearance the two knobs on the arms need to remain loose so the awning won't have any pitch at either end. Leaving the knobs loose should allow the awning when extended to go straight out.

If you want to pitch one end of the awning pull down on one of the main end arms then tighten the knob. The knob should always be loose when closing/opening the awning.

If you still have clearance issues I would take it back to the dealer for inspection.

You can also put a roller wheel on the top outside corner of the door to keep the canvas off .. Some RV's come with that..

I have the same problem on our 5th wheel. The awning appears to be almost parallel to the ground with arms fully extended, yet the door still lightly rubs on the awning fabric when it is open and closed. The wheel on the door may be the answer.
