Door holder

Why does Jayco install these way back behind the door instead of on the other side of door where it’s closer to coach??Click image for larger version

Have you seen that on any other units? Because, that's seriously stupid.

Here's my guess: Somebody installed the hardware on the door on the wrong side (either before the door was installed or after). Then, to fix the problem, they just installed the hardware that goes on the trailer in the wrong place.

Just wait until a gust of wind hits that door when it's locked back. Going to tear itself out of the wall. Grrrreeeat.

That's not the norm. My 2017 Eagle 293RKDS is out by the edge.

A dumbass move the factory made on my unit was they installed the tv antenna away from the second floor. So you can't reach it without a two step stool. Saw this on the PDI. But we choose to live with it. We didn't want any patches on the roof or ceiling to relocate it to where it should of been. We have to keep a folding two step stool in the pantry just for this reason.

Our 2018 377 also has the holder near the hinge and that makes it kind of hard to reach.
I installed a magnetic door holder like bookemdanno did and it works fine most of the time. If it is too windy the manual catch needs used.

That is whacked! Our 2018 27.5rkds has a friction hinge and no latch to hold the door open. We have not been out in high winds but so far the friction hinge works fine.

So is the fender skirt on the dining room slide out, just outside the door. My youngest lost her balance on the entry steps and fell face first into the skirting. She still has a bit of a scar on her face from that fall.

It'll be a month before I can do it. I leave tomorrow for 4 weeks of training. All it is is 2 circular magnets that I hook to the existing catch with some double sided tape...nothing fancy, but it works great!

Get a small file and round the corner enough to take the sharp edge off. We had the same issue, it would catch on a sleeve. Easy fix.

I have the same issue, and the magnet idea got me thinking. I use a magnetic car cell phone mount and it works fantastic. It might be perfect for this.

Hey all
Since Dan is gone and I took the idea from him, here are your pics.
They just stick to the door and body. Remove your door stop and your good to go!
Can’t fix the pics
