Dual Pane Frameless Tinted Safety Glass Windows

Hello all,

I am looking for some help/input here.

We ordered our 29.5FBDS and had it delivered to the dealer and checked it out. The first thing I did was looking if all the options I ordered are in... Sure enough the dual pane windows are missing instead they installed the frameless single pane windows.

The dealer came back now and said he talked to the factory and they mentioned in these Units the dual pane would not be as efficient as in the more expensive units since there is no real gap in between l... and they might drop that option in future...
Now I can wait 4weeks for a new unit or get a discount on this unit.

Long story shor, has anyone experience with the dual pane on the HT series?

It sounds like they're making excuses for a botched order. Telling you, "Oh well, they don't work that good in the model you ordered anyway. "

If you want the windows and are in no hurry for the unit, go ahead and wait for the new one.

4 weeks? I assume the unit has already been ordered by the dealer for their lot or cancelled ordered? The reason I ask is because if they're telling you 4 weeks to order and receive a unit, it's sounds like a fantasy according to lead times I'm seeing now on this forum.

We have them in the Eagle. I would think the HT series would be the same.
I would not have a new camper without them.
We have camped in some very high temps, and you don't feel the heat radiating through like the old single pane windows. Stops or greatly reduces the condensation in the cooler months.

For you in the FLorida area I wouldn't be without.
For me in Minnesota the single pane is adequate.

Thank you for you quick responses. Tried to get some more information from Jayco but that did not help... The difference in the two windows types are around 700usd wonder how much more quality you really get for that?
I guess the 4 weeks are because they messed it up and therefore would speed it up.

Asked the dealer for the window specs now and see what he can provide.

I have had no problem with mine I have a HT 28.5 RSTS , Haven't had it in real cold weather but as far as heat it keeps cool as xxxx

Single and have had 90 degree days and only 1 15000 A/C no problem keeping cool

Why can't the dealer order the correct windows and install them for you?

Seems like a pretty easy fix to their screwed up order.

They probably would loose $ installing them now. They would only get to keep the $700, no way they could charge Jayco for their screw up.

I would insist they change out the windows on their dime.

I got the dual panes in mine.

I notice a big difference. The ac and furnace don't run near as long as they did in our old unit with single pane windows.

The other big thing I notice is that if I sit in the booth next to the window or the couch in front of the window, I don't feel near the amount of heat or cold radiating through the window. I am very happy with the upgrade so for.

It is your decision, but if you wanted them, I would expect it was for a reason, and that you'd be better off with them. I know it would be hard waiting, but I would suggest you wait, but I wouldn't hold my breath that the 4 weeks is accurate......

Ok I am confused. You said the windows are not efficient since they are just glued together with no space in between unlike the expensive models. Well in 2016 the Pinnacle was the top of the line before the Designer and my windows do not have a space between the glass. Are they making them different now?

If you don't have a 1/4" gap between the panes you don't have Thermal Windows. They were an option, not standard.

If you ever use your rig for winter camping you will be glad you have dual pane windows as well as in summer. No condensation inside when heating.

I wouldn't accept their "smoke" for the screw up.

As was said previously, I would not have a rig without dual pane windows, but then I full time.

My unit is at the dealer now so I cannot check. I ordered dual pane and all Windows came with the stickers. They are frameless but like stated above appear to be two paines bonded together. If there is a gap it is tiny compared to my house Windows.

Definitely much smaller. Like I mentioned 1/4 or maybe 3/16, but there is a gap, I had one replaced at the service center that fogged up because the seal broke.

I don't know for sure where the mistake happened... looking at the paperwork I have the windows were ordered correctly by my dealership...


Anyway Jayco and dealer are working with me on this issue and I feel the communication is good. I wanted the dual pane windows because I tend to put in what I can on insulation against heat or cold. But I have to say I was in the impression that a dual pane window must have a gap in between without ever questioning it.
Still getting used to the marketing machinery after 3.5 years in the US I guess ;-)


I've been told that in the type of window being used in the HT series there is no gap and it would help more against noise than heat. Which somehow would make sense when I think more about it... what can you really get with a difference of about 600-700USD...


To answer the point with the 4 weeks, they would modify an order which is in production right now and that how I could get it with 4 weeks... otherwise it would be more 12 or more weeks.


I hate that it happened but on the other side I feel that all parties are working on a solution.

I ordered my HT in June and it was completed near the end of August. I to ordered the dual pane frameless windows and when my dealer recieved it, he noticed that they installed single pane framed windows. They offered me a 1000 off the price to keep it or wait 4 weeks for another. I ordered them because I live in VA and despise the heat. Sorry you have to go thru the same ordeal! Good Luck and don't stop till you get what you want.

Well mine is at the dealer getting warranty work but when I looked at my windows they looked like two panes glued together with no gap. Will update when I get her back
