Dust covers

Looking to replace the dust covers on the leveler legs. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions would’ve appreciated. Thank you.

Start a message, go down and click "advanced" scroll down to attachments, the over to the side there will be a set of browse buttons, use these to select the picture(s), then upload. Then go back and Preview to make sure they are correct and post the message.

I’m sorry Roger…….I tried. The dust cover is at the base of the housing where the stainless steel leg slides up into. It’s a foam rubber ring that fits around the leg and has an adhesive side that sticks to base of housing. In order to get this dust cover on leg, you would have to take the landing foot off. In order to do that you need a 1/2 inch hex and a rubber strap to put around the stainless steel leg to hold while loosening the hex on bottom of pad. Forget about it!!!!!! I took a razor blade and cut it, put it around the leg, positioned it at base of housing and pressed into place. Kept the cut at the back so won’t be hit with the wind going down the road. Raised the levelers to up position so the dust covers can be compressed. Works for me! If I ever figure out how to send the picture! We will see. Be well

Try this like I am doing here. To reply to a post click on the quote button. it will bring you to this screen we are on now. Now look up at the top of this reply and see the little paper clip? just to the right of the smiley face. Click on it. A small box will open with 5 "browse" and no file selected to the right of each on. Click on any of them and it opens up your computer menu screen. head over to where you have the pictures stored in the computer or if in a cell phone, it needs to be connected to the computer and you should see it on the menu. You need to find where your pictures are. Once there, double click on a picture and that picture file will show next to one of the browse buttons we talked about earlier. Now look to the right and low in that same screen where you see an upload button. Hit it and watch. it will say uploading files and to wait. it could take a little bit depending on network speed. Once finished you will see a
"current attachments" and size of the file . Another picture? repeat, you can have multiple pictures in a response. Once finished typing as I am doing, hit submit reply and this is waht you get

We have a 2021 Northpoint 310. These dust covers are on all the levelers.

And you're updating already? Are you replacing them with an upgraded dust cover or..? I'd be interested to see how they're removed myself.

Wipe off your levelers with a rag before retracting and you will probably never have to replace them

Not dust covers...

Wondering why you want to replace them. The only purpose of the foam washers is to stop the feet from rattling when retracted. They do not wipe the cylinder. It was a warranty issue on my pinnacle, one was missing from factory. Dealer couldn't get the foot off and replaced the whole jack cylinder.

I replaced them because they had become dry rotted and disintegrated.

dry rot allready?

If I'm following this post correctly, these are on a a 2021 Northpoint and they are already falling apart?

I still can't believe my dealership replaced the whole jack assembly with one missing because they couldn't get the foot off. I would have been happy with a cut and glued one. Now I have to do a purge, evidently they left air in the system and one front leg extends faster and hits the ground before the other by about 4". I cringe everytime I take my 5er to the dealer for warranty issues.

So sorry you’re going thru all this because they didn’t use their common sense by putting a cut in cover to replace. Good luck with your 5ver. Be well…..be safe.
