Eagle 355mbqs

So, SWMBO and I have decided to go ahead an purchase a 355mbqs, there are a few 2022's on nearby lots so hoping to snag one of these ones for a good price.

I will be towing it with my current truck which is a 2019 F350 6.7 powerstroke SRW. I have weighed the truck with a full tank of diesel full DEF and my very fat arse in it and I had about 3k in payload left and 4k on the axle (a little more on the tires). I have since then added the factory 5th wheel prep kit so I can take some of that payload away. I can get some back by removing the skid plates (that I don't need) and removing the extra fat in my arse. I would also be looking to install self leveling airbags on the rear which look to be about 50 pounds. I will be converting the trailer to a gooseneck connection most likely using the lippert rhino box conversion which is half the price of the gen 3 goosebox and I have talked to a current owner who really like it. I have figure that I will be near max on my truck payload but in every other way I should be fine. I am a little nervous about going to much over weight but SWMBO does not want to change the truck unless it is obvious we need to step up from the weights.

Anyway I am looking forward to the upgrade it will be a nice new trailer for us to camp in.

I have a 2019 355mbqs and tow with a 2018 Ram 3500 SRW. I also have a 60 gallon RDS auxiliary tank in the truck bed and still within my limits. I went with Timbrens and are very happy with them. No maintenance unlike the airbags.

Well over the weekend we purchased the 355, I am having the dealer install a Lippert Gooseneck Connect pin box so I am not sure when I will get it at the moment. Very excited, looking forward to camping in her.

Congrats on the new 355! (Don't forget to update your signature).
I wouldn't give a moment's thought to pulling that with your Super Duty.

Well, I picked her up last night, I like the gooseneck connect pinbox from Lippert it looks very well made. I will give more info on that in the future once I have towed more than a few miles with it. The truck was not even on the helper springs in the rear and looked level, as did the trailer as well. I had the front basement full of all the stuff I go camping with, there is some stuff left to put inside but those are mostly clothes, so I would think I was near the max pin weight I would see as most the heavy stuff left to go in will be over or behind the axle anyway and I only had 1/2 a tank of fuel which is about 140 lighter than full. At the moment I am thinking I will be good to go with this combo it seemed well matched, I always like to err on the side of too much truck than too little. It was dark so I did not take a photo, next time I hook up and move it I will take a photo.

My only concern and I don't think it is a big one, is that when measuring the bed clearance, at the back of the bed I had about 5 1/4 inches of clearance (less to the top of the cover rail) and at the front near the hitch (just before the front cap) I had about 5 3/4 inches of clearance. As I say the trailer looked level I am not sure if the front part is perfectly level or not, I think I am good to go as it towed so well.

I am looking forward to camping in her now and getting a few more things done like reinforcing the bed frame and setting up the bunk to have a barrior for the kid so he does not roll out.

I thought I would give this thread a final update as I was able to get the truck and trailer to the scale and weight it. I was on my own and there was no food in the trailer other than that I was camp ready (The black tank was showing 2/3's full but should have been mostly empty). I waited that long as I wanted to get my non commerical class A before going down there. The 15k limit for that license is only for 5th wheel hitches if you go to a gooseneck it goes down to the bumper pull limit of 10k. Anyway, the weights were about where I expected them.

No trailer
Front axle 5100
Rear axle 3520
Gross 8620

With trailer
Front axle 5160
Rear axle 6400
Trailer axle 11180
Gross 22740

Pin Weight 2940
Trailer Weight 14120

So on my own I am 60 pounds over my gvwr (I am personal at least 140 pounds over weight so I can gain that back if I work harder ), with my family I will most likely be about 300 over. But I will be under the axles, tires, towing etc, and honestly the truck does not feel overweight at all, she tows like a dream, hooking up is a little difficult but no more than a bumper pull, I did use the ford aux camera connector to add a camera to the side (now wired into the aux switches for power) so I can line it up side to side and front to back in the cab. Looking forward to our next longer trip.
