Eagle HT Pinbox Swaps

I’m looking to swap my Reese revolution for a Morryde RPB. If you’ve done this, what part number for the Morryde? I spoke with Lippert and I learned my Eagle HT frame has a 1621 pinbox. I spoke with Morryde and they were concerned that the frame doesn’t have the right wings for their box to bolt to.

If anyone is interested in swapping your Morryde for my Revolution, let me know.

Just curious, why are you looking to swap to the MorRyde RPB?

My setup experiences chucking that is a bit uncomfortable. I see you have the Morryde Orbital box listed in your sig. I think that combines rubber shock absorption with rotation. Per the tech at Morryde, that isn’t available in the aftermarket yet. Given you have a shock absorbing unit, you hopefully won’t have as much chucking as me.

I will be taking ownership of my Eagle HT tomorrow, so I am not familiar with the performance yet. However, I have towed my FIL's Eagle with a standard Lippert Pinbox with my Andersen Ultimate Hitch and it towed without any chucking. You may want to consider looking at an alternative hitch.

I have a 29.5BHS with the Reese Revolution and experience little to no chucking at all. I wouldn't swap mine as I don't need a slider hitch. I have a pullrite hitch.

Just an update in the event someone else runs into this issue.

After talking with Morryde and with Lippert, I’ve learned that the Pinbox mounting wings on the frame is drilled in a Revolution-specific pattern when Jayco orders a frame with a revolution hitch. This bolt pattern does not allow for a standard 1621 pin box to be installed. The revolution uses two bolts per side, where as standard pinboxes have five bolts per side.

Morryde does have the orbital rubber pinbox available as an OEM option. That product is not available in the aftermarket as of yet, but they do plan to launch it soon. The Morryde engineer i spoke with believes the orbital box will bolt up.

I am using an Anderson ultimate hitch. As such, the rotating feature cannot be used in my application. I just want a different pin box to address some of the chucking issues I am experiencing. Unfortunately, the wings on the frame just won’t accommodate other style boxes. The lesson here, I think, is that if you order a trailer you should probably not get a rotating less you absolutely need it as it will limit your options for boxes down the road. I have no clearance issues with my Andersen set up. I can get to about 85° and still have room between the cap and the back of the truck.
