Eagle slide question

Having CW address a couple of warranty issues on our ‘18 317rlok. One of the issues is the dining/ entertainment slide. When slide is extended there is a gap between the roof of the slide and the rubber flap that is attached to the RV. Odd thing is it is flush on the left side of slide, but has a 2”/3” gap on the right side. CW seats that’s normal because the slide drops slightly when fully extended. And that there is a second flap behind the first one. I cannot say for sure that it has always been that way. Can anyone out there comment on this? Thanks in advance.

An uneven gap from one side of the slide to the other is not normal. Something is very out of square for there to be a 2-3 inch difference in the width of your slide. Keep insisting that CW investigates.

And both wipers should be in contact with the slide at all times. Sounds like they just don't want to do the work

Afrnd2all,

I agree with SB_James, something isn't right.

CW is correct in stating that some style slides drop in place a little (designed to do so) upon full extension, but the top horizontal dual 'wiper seal' should still be making contact the full length of the slide roof EPDM when fully extended.

My slide roof fully extended looks like this:

To compensate for the slight slide drop my slide roof has an approx. 6"-8" wide by approx. 1/2"-3/4" high styrofoam riser located under the slide EPDM roofing material that insures that the wipers maintain contact with slide fully extended. I have a Lippert through-frame style slide.

I had a similar problem as you described due to the poor installation of the styrofoam risers...., I had the slide roof repaired under warranty (removed EPDM & installed new riser)..

Also, don't rule out a possible slide adjustment issue as a possible root cause.

Bob

Don't leave it up to camping world. As a owner do your due diligence. Call Jayco warranty department, establish a connection on the 4-Ws.

Who is working on it from Jayco?
What is the warranty number?
Where is CW at with parts or approval?
When is CW completion date?

Even if your Service Writer at CW is telling you not to do anything, keep calling Jayco.

Squeaky wheel gets the oil !!!
