Any suggestions on interesting places along the route from the Cape towards Mt. Desert?
Much possibility of finding places to boondock along this route?
How long will you folks be in the area?

We get there around the 1st of June and we're staying only 5 days before heading north. We found a State Park Reservation called Scusset Beach in Sandwich, near to the Borne Bridge, I believe and managed to get reservations. It's been 30 years since I lived up that way so I don't remember a whole lot of what's around to do.

I can't vouch for any of these sites but try this: http://www.freecampgrounds.com/results.aspx?s=27

Hey Billlinda27, welcome to the JOF. How about stopping over to the New Members section and introducing yourselves. What tow vehicle do you have? Enjoy the 26.5RLS!

There are many nice New England towns. Portland has a nice waterfront, narrow gauge RR but parking might be a problem, Kittery for the outlet shopping Freeport for LL Bean, when we go to MDI we always take route 3 from Augusta, you pass through Belfast, Bucksport. Fort Knox is a nice place to stop but no gold, Bar Harbor that is our favorite place, but when cruise ships arrive town can get crowded, Cadillac Mt great sunrises first place on the east coast the sun hits, great ocean views. in New Hampshire there is Portsmouth. At the Cape be aware of traffic for friday and sunday it could lead to long lines of cars (miles) getting on and off the Cape. Chatham is a nice town and the list of towns could continue. I'll add pics if I can find them

Very much appreciate the info. We are looking forward to re-living our honeymoon days, albeit in a different age, etc.
Would like to view any pics.
Can you suggest any camping sites on MDI?
Thanks again
Mark/Jeannie

Cant' tell you about New England towns and places, but we just got back from a week at Zion National Park with our new Jayco Eagle SuperLite 26.5 RLS HT. Put a little over 1,000 miles on the FW with our Ram 2500HD with six-speed manual. Total trip we averaged a little of 11.6 mpg per the lier on the console, but when checking manually, it was very close. The FW tows very nicely and very easy to hook up or take down and park for the duration. Very roomy with the slides out, bathroom is quite roomy and the kitchen area works quite well. I think the sound from the tv is not as good as using the surround sound but it is ok if you don't want to mess with the surround sound. Overall, we really liked the FW and hope to have some more long trips this summer.

Well wish i had better news about the pics of Cape Cod, New Hampshire, and MDI. pics are in my home computer and it won't start. but we stay at the Bar Harbor Campground. they don't take reservations. and is only cash for paying the fees. we get there early sunday morning when folks are leaving. the best area is by the laundry room and pool. great views of the bay.

about same here, 300 lbs over payload but the truck doesn't seem to care at all. This is our 2nd summer and the truck is alway willing to pull the HT 23.5
We haven't been out in the camper since the Syracuse Rally in June and I am getting itchy!!! next trip: South of Montreal, then Lake George RV park then in Nova Scotia 3 weeks. Summer is just too darn short.

Well, since the post has strayed a bit from the OP, I'll just say that we have one and love it!
