The first question is - are you plugged into 120 volts or running a generator? The water heater uses 120 volts when on electric. It also uses 12 volts for control.

If you are plugged in and your 120 volt items are working, such as a microwave, then check your circuit breakers.

Our 16 gallon heater has a switch on the water heater itself for electric and is not wired into the control panel. Our heater was a later install after the tankless heater quit working and I was sick of repairing it.

Is the power on indicator light not lighting? Also keep in mind it's probable going to take 30 minutes or more for the water to start getting hot in a 6 gallon unit and longer if you have a larger water tank.

120v breaker for the water heater on? Is there a 120v switch on the water heater itself? Some have them and some do not. Did it work on the self PDI?

The first question before turning on an electric WH element, should be; Is there water in the tank?

If not, you probably need a new element. They last about a second when there is no water, in the tank.

Second, as people already mentioned; You probably have an inside switch and one on the WH itself. The inside switch should light up, if it is on. The remote probably augments the inside switch only.

Third, The electric (AC and DC) resets are on he WH itself. Push the AC one in for a second.

You will not be able to hear it when it's running on the electric mode. Be very sure there's water in it or you'll burn out the electric element quickly.

Not yet, this is a brand new camper. I am used to the old style with the switch inside the camper and on on the wh but really dometic/Atwood does not have the black toggle switch. The only switch to turn on the gas portion of the water heater is on the electronic JAYCOMMAND . I turned on the jaycommand electric heater option but it isn’t working. I am hoping someone with a 2020 Jayco eagle can enlighten me

WE have the same problem. Looks like someone put the wrong water heater in ours as electric wires are just laying next to water heater as there is no place to connect them.

The power input is generally on the back.
