Electrical question

Looking to put a 30 amp outlet at my house for my 5th wheel. I want to be able to run the ac, fridge and hot water tank. It’s going to be roughly 125-130’ run from my panel box in the house. What size wire should I use to compensate for Friction loss and voltage drop? Also I have voltage meter in my RV(plugs into an outlet). What’s the lowest voltage I should let it run at without burning up appliances? I’m camping now at a campsite and with the fridge, hot water tank and ac on it’s down to 106 volts. Switched fridge and hot water over to gas and we are 114v now. Thanks

In your case, your distance (135') the calculator says you need 6 gauge wire. With a 2.98% voltage drop. This is assuming the CU wire is in conduit or direct bury.

Before you do the work, consider if you will ever want to have a 50 amp outlet? You can run the extra wire now and use it later.

Do not run your A/C on 106 volts. You will burn out the compressor. Do not run it on anything less than 110 volts. Put your HW and fridge on gas.

I could tell you what we do in the real world. Run #8 in a 3/4" conduit which is one wire size larger than #10 which is rated at 30 amps.

The results below are based on #8 copper in conduit with the supply voltage is 120v and a 24 amp load. You still run a #10 ground.

Voltage drop: 4.52 Voltage drop percentage: 3.77% Voltage at the end: 115.48
