Electronics help needed.

I'm getting ready to get a new satellite. Can I run all tv's off the one box like the DVD does?

Old school says NO-WAY but with the AUTOSWITCH technology it may be possible in todays SAT receivers.

The OLD SCHOOL way was one feed for each SAT RCVR. If your SAT DISH had four ports you could feed four SAT RCVRs in four different areas inside and each one would select independent SAT Channels. I quit SAT TV when the Natlional Broadcast changed over to digital mode and just watch LOCAL Digital channels everywhere now. If we want to watch some CABLE stations like CNN-TNT-USA-etc we pick them up over the internet. LOCAL TV using the OTA BATWING antenna gets us full screen - full blown high def signals (FOR FREE) on our 22-inch HDTV ready VIZIO TV. We usually pick up 6-36 OTA Local Broadcast HDTV signals just about anywhere we go here on the East side of the US.

Used to drag around my two spare SAT TV receivers (One for living room and one for bedroom in RV trailer) and portable two channel SAT DISH on the trips but don't do that anymore now...

Have no idea what technology has for SAT TV now....

A little more detail is required. Do you mean to run multiple TV's off of 1 satellite receiver? Which means watching the same channel on all TV's. Or do you want to run multiple receivers off of one dish?

In my old motorhome I used to run 2 tvs off a single sat receiver box by utilizing a HDMI splitter and running HDMI cables to each tv. Both tvs would see the same channel all the time. In my TT I run the HDMI splitter as well but utilize a RocketFish HDMI transmitter. The tv in the bedroom gets its hdmi signal wirelessly. I still have to watch the same thing on both tvs but the bedroom tv is only used when the kids are sleeping so it is no big deal for me. I would have used 2 sat receivers but the coax wiring in the TT does not support sat signals. The splitter behind the 12v antenna amp will not pass the sat signals. I could rewire it but it is not that important. I am outside most of the time when camping anyway.

Same channel on all tv's like the DVD plays same movie on all tv's.
