Entry Door Shock

I just bought a used 2009 Jayco Eagle Super Lite 31.5 FBHS. The top shock on the entry door is a 20" long shock at 80 pounds. It is obvious to me that the 80 pound shock is major overkill. Once you get the door past the "opening point", the door flies open if you don't hold it. When you close it, you can barely close it from inside. Someone obviously replaced the original with too strong of one.

Any chance someone out there has a similar model that they could read the pound rating from. I have all the literature, but nothing discusses this.

Thanks much,

Robert

We had to replace the shock on our '08 Jayco Seneca earlier this year--it's 10 pounds.
