Extended Warranties

Looking to see if anyone had issues with extended warranties. My warranty is up on my 2016 27.5 RLTS and was thinking about getting an additional extended 5 year warranty either through Jayco (JayPlus Platinum) or Coach Nets similar plan. Any help out there would be appreciated. Thanks!

Red face Extended Warrenty

We have a 2016 375 BHFS that the warranty will be up this year also. We went to our dealer to inquire about the Jayco extended warranty. It is almost $4000 cash for 3 years. I think that we are going to try the Camping World Extended warranty. We should have gotten the extended warranty when we bought the fifth-wheel but were trying to save a buck. Sometimes your better off just to spend the money.

We purchased the extended warranty through the place we store our unit. A lot cheaper than dealer. Deductible is $100 unless we are able to use them and then it is $50. We had it with previous units & didn't have any issues - oh, we also pay the shipping. The paperwork is at the trailer or would provide the name. In early 2000's we had Good Sam & it was alright.

Before you do, be sure of what it covers. Many warranties do not cover things like appliances (that are covered by the mfg of the appliance). Not sure about things like axle and frames.

I am one of those who does not do extended warranties. I found I was better off putting that same amount of money in a 'repair fund'. At the end of the ownership period I usually have a pot of cash left over.

DIYers can do a lot of repairs for 4K. I never would waist money on warranty or extended warranty.
