F350 Crew Cab and Eagle clearance??

Anybody have any pictures of an F350 Crew Cab with an Eagle turned 90 degrees? Just want to see if it has enough room or does it hit the cab?

I had to replace the rear window after attempting a full-lock U-turn. With my rig I'd have to get a slider to get it to break 90 deg. I'm very careful when making tight turns now. Haven't had any more "events" since the first one but, like I said, I'm real careful now.

I dont know that any short beds can do a full 90° with a regular hitch. I couldn't even get close to 90° with my short bed Ford.

Most trailers are roughly 8' wide. The pin is in the center at roughly 4'. If the nose is made for it, you would need atleast 4' from the back of the cab to the center of the hitch to get 90°. 90° is sharp....Id say about 70°ish is usually plenty.

Talked to the camper dealer today.....he said I wouldn't get 90 degrees probably close to 80.....but that should be plenty for me.....I have never even been close to that anywhere I go

Snick, "trust but verify". I can't get anywhere close to 80 deg. Like I said, my cap will touch the cab during a U-turn if I turn the wheel full-lock.
It's ok up to about 90 deg into the turn but the 5er is turning inside my truck's turn and the angle between TV centerline and 5er centerline will increase (and clearance decreases) as the turn continues.
Our street ends in a cul-de-sac which I navigate carefully. If there are no cars parked in the "bubble" I can make the U-turn without turning the wheel to full-lock, the cap gets close near the end but will make it. If there is a car parked I have to stop mid-turn and back up once before completing the turn.

90 deg is bad on your tires . if you have to back up once or twice so be it.

Get a Demco Autoslide and you'll never have to worry on this 5er or the next, or the next and so on. I go over 90 degrees on every trip as I get cheap fuel at small stations which require massaging the unit into places it shouldn't go and into great sites that weren't meant for a 40' 5er. I've never even give it a second thought. On my old rig set up, I had a manual slider and it was a pain to get in and out to operate. This is a breeze. Here is a used 18K Auto Slide for sale which may fit your truck https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=demco%20hitch There are more if you look.

I'd have to agree on the Demco Hitchhiker. I can do the 90+ with my F250 (short bed) without a problem.

I'd get a slider if it were me. Just to be safe.

Our old Heartland unit was designed to give us a 88 degree on shortbeds and never had a problem.

When we purchased our new 377 last March the dealer made us sign paperwork when we picked it up "saying we knew that we had a short bed without a slider hitch and could have problems when making a turn". I was not to worried until we hooked up and the wife was like we are not taking this home today and because it is not going to work we are going to hit the truck. Well after about 20 mins of me and the guys at the dealer talked her off the ledge. We took off and hit the first truck stop and did a test turn as she spotted me and after that we felt ok to drive home on the interstate but no way were were going to chance it in the campgrounds as they were built way before any of our big rig's were even thought.

First thing we did once we got the 5er back and parked was purchase a 18K Demco autoslider the best money spent so far (well little trouble with the hitch, long story for another time) but we do love that slider. Did a test turn after getting and I bet we got to 85 degrees and not even close to the cab.

I would tell anyone with a short bed to get a slider even if the trailer manufacture says you dont need one.

Check while turning in both directions. I remember reading about someone that measured in one direction, and hit turning in the other. Doesn't make sense, but was likely a twist issue where camper was leaning one way and the truck the other. That can rob a lot of your flat ground clearance.

Many people get by without sliders by keeping a careful eye on things. I didn't want to take the chance. I've got a Pullrite.

Keep in mind too that the hitch center point is well forward of the axle or box centerline in a ford super duty 6'9" bed. My eagle HT is close on my non-sliding hitch at anything more than 65-70 degrees.
