Ours is a our daily driver and we both love driving it. We anticipated having to park way out in parking lots where we could take up two spots without upsetting anyone. What I did not anticipate was the turning radius of the longbed version - like that of a 747. So that took getting used to. If you miss a turn, there are often no more U-turns or even 3-pointers.

We also anticipated the stiff ride when driving empty but it's not as bad as I though it would be. The room inside is awesome with great creature comforts. We ride with 4 small dogs and 4 cats, with the cats in a 4' X 2' diameter "Pet tube" in the back seat (think of a cloth covered slinky that zips flat for storage).

As newbies to trucks and RV's we appreciate the terrific utility of the cameras (like 6 of them) that provide a bird's eye helicopter view when parking. Other brands did not have that (yet).

When I came home with the paperwork after buying the truck, Joan was through-the-roof furious with me when she saw the price. Then she drove it. "I get it now", she says. Especially when she drives it with the house in tow... "I totally get this; good job baby"... We feel safe as can be with 8 1/2 tons behind us.

An F450 has a physically larger, heavier duty rear differential with a 4:30 gear ratio. An F350 still has a stout, but slightly smaller rear differential, a slightly lower load capacity with the maximum gear ratio of 4:10. BOTH trucks have a much tighter turning radius than the shorter wheelbase F250. A base F350 stickers $48,120. A base F450 stickers $66,650. With an $18,530 difference before you consider the additional cost of options, I recommend the F350. Drive trains are nearly the same and drive ability is nearly identical!
I have been towing with a 2015 F350 Lariat Ultimate DRW for 5 years. It is a great truck!

Actually, the diff is the same, outside the ratio, but the rear axles themselves are slightly beefier on the 450.

The 450 brakes are much larger, too.

However, it’s the turning radius that you get to enjoy on a daily basis on a 450 vs 350. Ride comfort with appropriate tire pressure is essentially the same between the two.

For the record, turning radius on a 250 crew cab, 4x4, long bed is exactly the same as the 350 (SRW and DRW), a little under 30’.

F450 crew cab 4x4 turning radius is about 5’ tighter, due to the wider front track that allows more steering articulation.

Current pricing, apples to apples, base model DRW 350 crew cab with 6.7 diesel is only $1k cheaper than same spec 450.

Your statements didn’t seem right to me, so I did a little research, just want to set the record straight.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Mine is also registered in the state of Washington and it's not labeled commercial. What section of the title shows "commercial"?

I think he meant if it's not on the front of the title. Again, where on your title does it show "commercial"?

I would like to know if you find out something, it's not on mines but then again I don't have a dually.

Hi Bill good luck on your new truck!! I now own a Seneca and love it. Before that we had a Heartland 5th wheel and I pulled it with a 2008 Chevy 3500 Dully and loved it a very very smooth riding truck. In fact our friend loved driving it over his Ford 350. We took turns driving to Yellowstone from CO. Any way a Co-worker at the time showed me this hitch called the Automated Safety Hitch System

Safety Towing Systems, Inc. – Now Manufacturing the Automated Safety Hitch System.

I wished I knew this before buying the dully I would have gone this path.
Anyway If I go back to a 5th wheel I will go this route.

Have fun with your new truck!!

I just tried to build both a 350 and 450 and there was a base difference of about 14K, $13,795 to be exact.

That’s because the online configurator defaults to a SRW spec for the 350 with gas engine, but you can only buy the 450 in a dually. And the configurator defaults to the diesel engine in the 450.

You need to compare apples to apples.

I stand corrected, I did have the drw checked on both but you are right in the 350 it defaults to the gas engine which Is the difference.

Was this a Cab and chassis truck?
What is the negative?
Are the plates market commercial? or is it regular plate?

I have a 06 and don't recall it being commercial but gross is 12500 I believe. But in years past I have had plated to 26K as I was commercial.

It is a Ram crewcab Drw longhorn plates are normal Olympia said they go in 2000# increments and mine is over. Which I think is bull. I argued all I could. What really bugs me is my friend bought a 2017 same truck and he didn’t have to title his commercial
