Factory Ford 19k fifth wheel hitch capacity question

New Pinnacle owner (soon to be delivered) and new Ford F350 SuperDuty with powerstroke diesel, long bed and factory-installed 5th wheel hitch. My trailer is 16k loaded with a 3,250 dry hitch weight. When I bought the 5th wheel package it came with a 19k towing capacity, there was no mention of a spec for a dry hitch weight limit of 2,850 lbs. I spoke with a Reese rep who said the Ford OEM, is virtually the same as a Reese M5, which has a 5,000 lbs. dry hitch limit. The Ford dealer is telling me the limiting factor is the hitch and not the truck. The truck GVWR rating is 12,000 lbs. (special) so now I'm not sure if this is actually a problem or not. Any feedback is appreciated.

I work at a Ford dealer and for the price of the Ford hitch, you can buy a B&W Companion for a couple hundred less. The limit is for the hitch, not the truck. What does your payload sticker say on the drivers door?

Sounds like you may climb over your payload cap. But anyway, Ford also offers a 32.5K for $1900. The B&W should do the trick.

The spec's on Ford's website say the payload is 4,190 lbs. My sticker doesn't say payload just cargo and passengers. Why would it be so different?

Any options on the truck take away from payload, for example the hitch prep.
