Faded VIN Tag

The VIN tag on my 08 Eagle Super Lite 27.5 RKS has faded into oblivion, and I would like to replace it (actually I think it needs to be there). Has anyone else had to do this and, if so, how'd you go about it?

I wrote to Jayco but have heard nothing back.

I would get metal stamps and stamp it into the A frame on drivers side. Then it is permanent.

That's a great idea. It would take some doing to stamp all that information onto a metal tag (or surface), but it'd be a one time shot.

Check inside your unit. Most have a duplicate tag mounted near the door in their unit. Mine is on the back of the door over the control switches. I am pretty sure this second tag is a requirement for all RV's (but I suppose might be a Canadian standards package thing). No fading on my inside sticker.

ETA: sorry misread that. I was thinking the capacities tag. The VIN is usually attached in several locations on a TT. I have a tag attached to a frame cross member underneath the unit that is still completely legible. Noticed it when servicing the axle. Give yours a good visual once over and you will probably find it in a couple of other locations.

I would recommend to contact your local dealer or call Jayco. I don't think they charge/charge much for a replacement vin tag on the ODS of your unit.

You can purchase blank VIN tags on Ebay
