Hi guys, I have 2011 Eagle Super lite, the gel coat is in pretty good shape, but there is some staining that was there when I purchased it. Mainly on the rear and entry side. How can I safely remove those stains without damaging the gel coat etc...?
So I tried the magic eraser, it made them lighter but did not remove them. I have read that boaters use toilet bowl cleaner and other acidic products to return the gelcoat white. Has anyone done this to theirs? Not sure what the gel coat difference is between boats and rvs.
As a former boat owner I used toilet bowl cleaner on fiberglass with no problem. Be a little careful with paint, but generally speaking good hard paint is ok. Wear rubber gloves and put it on with a chipping brush. Rinse well and then clean and wax.
Side note oven cleaner can be used to remove oil based paint from fiberglass. Again be careful and I would suggest you test on a small area if worried.
