Finally got my rig back

After a 4 month stay at the dealer, I brought my North Point home.
It had he floor supports repaired, the awning noise fixed, and the dip in my dining slide repaired.

It's a good thing I live 2 minutes from the dealer.
The floor supports were fixed, but ONLY the bent ones. Two of the four. I can live with that I guess, but I would have liked to see them all fixed.
Both my awnings were making that extremely loud noise. They replaced the awning arms on the rear awning. All good now. BUT did nothing to the front awning that still roars like a freight train.

The dip in my slide roof, for the most part, is gone. I can still see it a little. The repair was made with plywood and steel angle. I can easily see the plywood when the slide is open or closed. I'm not overly impressed. It's alright when closed, because I'm really not in there, but open is another story.

I also told the dealer that the sweep seal on the slide roof didn't touch the roof and the compression seal was coming off the wall and the caulk was all pealing off with it. They didn't even look at it. Still the same.

The my poor braking issue is still being discussed, so there was no point leaving the trailer there waiting for a resolution.
When they figure out what to do with the brakes I'll take the rig back to have the remainder fixed.
What a PITA

Here's a picture of the floor supports, I'll get a picture of the slide roof later.

Wow after 4 months you think they could have got it right. Probably 3.95 of those 4 months nothing was happening.

Glad you got your rig back but It really stinks that the just did the bare minimum on your supports and a subpar job on the slide roof. Hope you have good luck with the brakes!

You got that right.
I actually made the appointment back in July for the end of October, and they took pictures and documented everything in July.
I sort of expected all the leg work to be done by the time I brought it in.
Nope.

The only good thing about it was they stored it for me for the winter. Lol.

At least the upside was free storage! Glad you get her back!

Know the feeling Klassic, I will be going in for my second round of warranty in the near future. They say it's going to be very labor intensive so that probably means months again. Have a new service advisor so hopefully it will get completed this time. I would like to post some positive on warranty but it's not possible until the issues are actually resolved.

klassic glad you FINALLY got your 5th wheel back today. All these dealers seem to suk.............

I won't ever go back to where we bought ours.

Think we are all going to have to go to disc brakes to solve our NO STOPPING issues........gotta love the 'brakes need to wear in to work properly '

EVERY trailer and RV I have bought over the years UNBELIEVABLY stopped as they should from day one.......IMAGINE THAT......having brakes that actually stop.

Jasum...I was quoted $1630 including shipping to upper NY state from Florida for an all Titan disc setup.
That was 1 year ago.

The compression seal on my slide (the inside one) comes part way out of the track every time I retract the slide. It has been like this from the beginning. I took it in once, early on. They slapped some silicon on it an put it back in the track. Of course it came out again the first time I used the slide again. I just get up on a step stool and put it into the track before I run the slide out. Now that I am about at the end of my warranty I am going to take it back in to "log" the defect and see if they can fix it right. However, there will be no multi-month stays at the dealer. I will take it up, show it to them, then take it home until they are ready to begin work.
I am not real optimistic that they will fix it, but hey! you never know.

You could either paint the back side white and stain the top edge, or you could wrap the plywood with eterna bond tape. Then cap the top with some stained screen mold or similar molding.

For the top I'm going to get them to get me the trim piece they took off.
They had to order a trim piece for the bottom and wait for it to be delivered. I don't know why they didn't get the top piece..... oh wait, I know.

All I can say is Wow!! That's the same crappy work that my dealership did, until they hired a new service manager. He completely turned the service dept around. Maybe the old service manager is working at your dealership now!

Klassic,
I know your pain well. If you get lucky you might get a 50- 50 shot at getting a repair done correctly. Mine sat at CW for three months (waited 3 weeks for appointment) and only three things out of 8 got fixed.
I just received my ladder for me to install since that is not a mobile paid for emergency repair and my fold out couch mattress replacement cover. I will do the couch but the ladder I will hold off on until my roof gets repaired after I move.

Can you post a few more repair photos of your outrigger . They will not do the fix on mine since it is not bent but that is just a matter of time. I plan on taking a steel plate and weld a top and bottom angle on to fit tightly against the outrigger and floor. Than bolting it with high shear hardware at three spots. Welding a plate on is the way to go but since I am living in it cannot do that.
It appears that CW has a new service manager and has been turning there operation around. Hope I can find a good repair place up around panama city for the rest of my stuff.
