Firestone ride rite helper springs

I am looking to install the Firestone Ride Rite Helper Springs to my 2012 Ford F350 Lariat 4WD SB. Towing a 2018 Eagle 327 CKTS. Firestone has an air shock (Rancho) that works with the air Helper Springs. These are quite costly, $300 a pair. Any one using these or is it best to just go with a quality shock like Bilstein.

I bought and returned Firestone and went with Airlift air bags.

Go with quality shocks like Bilstein or Fox.

The Ranchos on my truck are junk

I went with the Timber grove air bags. They were very easy to install.

I'm very pleased with the factory air bags on my RAM 3500 dually. Particularly like the "alternate trailer height" adjustment. It lowers the rear end about 1/2 inch which makes the FW perfectly level when towing.

You may want to consider Timbrens. I had them on my '12 F-250 and they helped a bunch. Install and forget. Lots of other options out there if you don't want to deal with air bags that you have to inflate/deflate each time you tow.

I installed Firestone Ride Rite air bags some years back and they have been great. No issues. When I replaced my shocks, not at the same time as when I added the air bags, I installed Bilsteins front and rear.

I too have Bilsteins, but I've heard Fox 2.0s are substantially better, they will be my next shock

Depends on what you are trying to do. Better ride? Level the rear of your truck when towing.?

I installed the Ride-Rites on my Jeep Grand Cherokee to level the rear when towing.

I'm not over on the tongue weight or RAWR.

I would do the airbags, I did Firestone Ride-Rite without the compressor on my E450/RedHawk it made a huge difference. Imagine controlling your ride height no matter what your payload is! It’s worth the investment. I had them put in by an RV/truck mechanic shop. But if you’re handy I think a pick up truck wouldn’t be too difficult. Take a look at the videos.

Sorry for the ignorance but why the modification? My 2017 F350 Super Duty pulls my 2018 Eagle HT just fine.

I just went through the same decision process for my 2018 F250. If you just want better shocks, go with Bilsteins. Much better than factory. If you want to control squat/ ride comfort, that’s a different story. I Went with Airlift for two reasons. 1. The Firestone’s are a real pain to install in the newer trucks and 2. Also wanted the internal jounce that comes in the Airlift 5000 line. Have towed “Fillmore” a little over 500 miles so far and couldn’t be happier.
