First 5th Wheel?

After 1st of year, wife and I are trading in or selling outright our 2018 Jayco WH 23MRB for our first 5th wheel. Our plans are to fulltime within a couple of years. Its just us and two Golden retrievers. Dont need bunks and we like the rear living floor plans. Would like to stay in the 34' to 37' range. We are currently looking and like the GD reflection 337. We would like to keep our options open and present Jayco has been a great trailer for a limited time with no major issues. Would love to hear some recommendations to consider and look at.
Thank you!

We have a 2019 Eagle 321RSTS and love it. It is a great couples coach. I also looked at the Grand Design Reflection but went with the Jayco as it has a 2 year warranty. Also you get Goodyear tires from Jayco, not the China bombs.

My wife and I are in a similar situation. We just ordered a 2019 Eagle 321rsts. We are currenlty in a 2016 Whitehawk 27dsrl. The Whitehawk has been an awesome camper with no issues. We have been on a few long trips from the Adirondak Mountains to Murrells Inlet, SC and all areas in between. We did alot of research before ordering the Eagle. We narrowed down the floorplan we liked best first. Then we began researching manufacturers who built similar floorplans. We decided to choose from models that would be avaialble at local dealers. We like being able to build a relationship with the dealer. We looked at a Keystone Montana High Country 305rl, a Grand Design 337rls, and the Eagle 321rsts. We like the build quality and extras the Eagle has to offer. We have been through two Jaycos so far with no big issues. The worst issue we had was a non-op refrigerator on our first Whitehawk. It worked great during PDI, but went out on us during our first trip. We made the best of it and used coolers to get by. Our dealer took care of the repair as soon as we returned home. The front cap faded due to sun and Jayco covered the cost of repainting, new decals, and clearcoat, even though it was beyond the two year warranty. Have fun researching your new fifth wheel!

Fyrehuntr, Im here in NV. we could not find a Jayco FW within 400 sq mi. So I flew to Denver and bought the eagle 27.5 RLTS. Put it in staorge and flew home. This spring we are going to retrieve it. In the process now of putting an andersen hitch in the chevy 2500 HD. We had only seen pictures. When I took initial delivery, I was pleasantly surprised of how nice the coach really is. A perfect size to have open living and not be so big. We had a 37 ft DRV in 2011. Lived in it for two years. Nice rig however not something to drag around the country. I downsized to a 29.4 cougar TT We loved it for 5 years until it started to deteriorate and also the fact that I was starting to feel a little claustrophobic. Glad I decided to go back to a FW. Originally I was literally on my was to purchase a Whitehawk 27 RLS TT. One hour out of town we decided to turn around and go home to rethink it.

We have a Pinnacle 36FBTS and love it. Lots of room and very stable to move around in. It is a little longer then you have listed around 43'. This camper pulls easy but is a little heavier then I like on my 3500 SRW Chevy but it looks like you have a truck that can handle it. Good luck on your search.

3/4" hardwood floors are for full timing. The new composite flooring will fail and become spongy. Pls don't ask me how I know....

Smurf, if your intentions are in fact to go full timing, then IMHO, I would do a little more research. Not all FW's are built for full timing therefore; quality of structure and amenities should be in the fore front of your search. They are NOT build equally. Again, just my IMHO. Good Luck and happy re-searching. SKIDAWG

Smurf, forgot to mention, if full timing, it may or may not affect the warranty, depending on which model you purchase. Just saying.............. SKIDAWG

We also went from a White Hawk 29REKS ( sure miss the Excursion/7.3D that we towed with) and now have the 321RSTS and wife and I love it. Two seasons and only minor issues (pounding the wooden coffee table next to me). Really looking forward toi February for our second Florida trip. Good dealer in Grafton Oh definitely helps.

We have been looking too. I have joined the Grand Designed forums and also Montana too. They both do have great floor plans. Not to bad mouth them but they both seems to have more serious problems then Jayco. ie, axels, tires, springs etc.

We too were looking at the GD Solitudes but ended up with a Pinnacle 36SWSS when we saw saw the huge front bedroom resulting from the telescoping “slide within a slide”. We realize that this feature may be a mechanical risk but it offers enough foom for the two of us plus 4 chihuahuas and 4 cats.

We just finished a 3 day shakedown cruise and are very pleased. The only things not working 100% are those we have not figured out yet. The trailer was warm, the water was hot and the beer and wine were cold. We figure we will have left over storage.

We also fully understand that full time living (which we plan in 2 mos) could void the warranty - as clearly stated in the manual - but it is also felt that Jayco would play that card only if they were constantly nickel and dimed with claims. We plan to claim only for catastrophic system or structural failures and fix most things ourselves even if it means hiring a local mechanic. We feel that this approach, all things considered, will be cheaper and easier than getting back to the dealer. We figure that pinnacles are the heaviest for a reason. If wrong we will let you know in two years.

I do know that Jayco recently qualified both the North Point and the Pinnacle as "full time" so warranty would remain in effect. The Eagle line however is not qualified as a full time RV.

Can you point me to where they state the Pinnacle is now rated for full time without voiding the warranty? Just in case, it would be nice to have it in writing.

Right on JAYCO's web site.

The combination of premium towing gear, total luxury and full-time warranty coverage, make the 2019 Pinnacle a complete package.

And it really never voided the warranty, it was more of a CYA because of codes.

We have this same coach and love the hell out of it. We also have 2 Goldens and this coach is nice and cozy for the 4 of us. So far i haven't found anything i don't like about it. I'm sure things will pop up but so far I'm knocking on wood.
