Ford brake controller setting

I have a new to me 2019 F350 with the built in brake controller, I will be towing a 2021 Eagle HT RSTS that sits unloaded at right around 9600#. Does anyone have a starting setting for my brake controller? RV isn’t the easiest to load up and take for a test run with the weather and location at the moment and would like to be in the ball bark when I do hook it up. Thanks in advance for any insight.

But if you are parked on gravel get to 10 mph and use the brake controller lock up the brakes. You want enough braking to stop both.

Don’t forget you can set the power level in the towing settings of the truck.
(I forget if its low, med, high or just low and high)
Then save that along with your trailer name and the other parameters, so when you have multiple trailers you can get back to your hooked up trailer brake setting.
Non fifth wheel trailers you need to set the length so the blind spot will work with the trailer.

From what little I have read in the owners manual the save trailer option doesn’t pertain to 5th wheels or goose necks. I would be interested in knowing when gain function to use, low, medium or high.

Be sure to check this setting. Mine was set to low (could of been from the 1st owner), but I had to run a red light the first time I tried to stop fast. I don't remember if I set to Med or High, but def stepped up from low.

Mine is set for 8.5. That works for me. BTW, the brakes do not lock up, that's not braking if they are locked up.
