Hmmm... for what my two kids have cost me to their mid-20's I could be driving a new truck every year and a Lamborghini

Both trucks are fine, once you get above 9000 tow weight the diesel has worked out good for us.Especially towing in the mountains. Thanks

We have 2018 321RSTS (love it) and tow with 2017 Chevy 2500 diesel, Blue Ox hitch. Truck and trailer are nice match-sits level, handles the load well and rear axle weight is right at the 6500# weight rating for the 20" tires. However, you will either want a auto slider hitch or a long bed for that camper (almost found out the hard way). Longer story but we ended up with long bed. We're just down in Wellington if you want to visit more about it.

A gas is cheaper to buy & maintain. Depending on trailer trip length/terrain the fuel mileage diff may not be a factor when hauling and wouldn't be a huge diff when empty.[/QUOTE]

We camp an hour from home. , its Northern Ohio so its pretty flat.
(this is OP, I happen to be babysitting the grandkids so I'm on my Son's log-in)

According to my manual that came with my 2017 Silverado 2500HD, my gas engine can tow 500 lbs more than if I had the diesel engine. Yes the mileage isn't the greatest, but I spent $10k less on the gas engine and that will buy a lot of gas. Also, the maintenance is cheaper than with a diesel engine.

I chose the Chevrolet option over the other two because I have not had any issues with my previous trucks and I did manage to get a killer deal when I purchased my 7th vehicle from my dealership. Dad drives the F250 Super Duty and has had no issues with it.
