Congrats on the new truck, looks great! Earlier you stated that the spring and parts were on backorder until the end of May, with that in mind you should be able to cancel the order still as it hasn't even been shipped yet, or am I missing something? ~CA

Just curious, what did the full set of parts run , including the sway bar. I am considering adding the factory 5th wheel prep package to my 250 and upgrading the rear springs. I don't plan to exceed any of my stickered capacities but like to have cushion if I get near my legal loads.

Does that mean I could take my F150 lariat crew cab 157”wb and put on springs from a F250? I know the sticker number wouldn’t change but it would level the back better!

I probably can't return the parts. Called the dealer and explained the situation. He said probably no. But, he would talk to Ford and explain the situation. The springs and sway bar are in. The back order items were the u-bolts and sway bar brackets. Local dealer was able to work with the Kentucky supply chain manager to get the back order parts from the truck plant. They will be here next week. Unfortunately

The total cost of the upgrade parts was $1650. I will use the sway bar. About $300 of the cost. They can be found at a lower price online, but I have a good local dealer that I like working with.

You can not use F250 parts on an F150. They are structurally very different vehicles.

Test drove the trailer today with the new truck. Had to adjust the hitch height. What a difference between the two vehicles. On the surface, both vehicles are very similar. The difference in driving is night and day. Probably a lot to do with the new transmission and steering system.

Okay when I had my 2500 ctd I was able to get it registration for higher numbers I think that I pay like an extra $20 to $30. I would ask them when you get the time those but then again with you having a 3500 you shouldn't have too much problem.

No sway bar on the new F350. The sway bar I ordered will fit. Will install when it arrives.

Unfortunately, I will not be using the springs I ordered and they are not returnable.

Congrats! That is a very nice upgrade so what is the payload on that?

We took our 2014 F250 to a spring shop and added springs to bring it up too requirements. No problems or issues for last 5 years (15,000 miles) pulling a 37' Pinnacle. I don't run with tanks full either.

Completed the first camping trip with the new F350. The truck drove great. But thought it needed a few adjustments. Decided to replaced the shocks, raised the front end 1", and added Timbren's.

First the camp ground, Milton WI KOA. My first time at this campground. What a great campground. Clean, well organized, lots of activities, plenty of space, and over the top service. Had a live band playing classic rock. Had a great time.

Upgraded to Fox shocks. Had a slight bit of excessive bounce through some of the server rough road sections. The front end was slightly low. Replaced the spring isolators with 1" thick isolators. Fully loaded, the rear dropped a bit more than I would like.

Here are the top of the finder wheel height dimensions before and after the upgrades:
- Before Unloaded - Front 40” & Rear 43”
- Before Loaded – Front 40” & Rear 39”

- After upgrades Unloaded - Front 41” & Rear 43”
- After upgrades Loaded – Front 41” & Rear 41”

If someone does decide to buy these parts from you, they should confirm with their dealer if they'll work. All parts on F350's and F250's are not interchangeable. I've worked for Ford in the parts dept for 35 years and have been witness to a ton of people buying things they swear would work because YouTube or Google said so. Don't trust the internet, check with your dealer and let them decipher your VIN and determine if the parts will work on your particular application.

Nice truck RDTC.

Payload

Congrats! That is a very nice upgrade so what is the payload on that?

————————

The payload on the F350 SRW ranges from 28-3600 lbs depending on options, GVWR reduction options and other variables.

We spent 2 months shopping 250 and 350s and couldn’t find any model on a lot with a payload higher than 3600. Since we have settled on a 5er that could have a tongue weight as high as 3400 lbs we have ordered a ‘22 F350 Diesel Dually that should come in north of 5500lbs whenever Ford gets around to building it.

BTW, it’s really difficult to either find or get a dealer to order a “truck” that doesn’t have an extra $20-25,000 of stuff that is more appropriate on a luxury car than on a truck capable of towing 30,000 lbs, once I found the right dealer we ordered an XLT with options appropriate for how we will use it and sticker came in under 60k.

Well, it has taken some communication time with Ford. Ford Dealer parts department allowed me to return the springs I had special ordered to upgrade the old F250. Dropped them off today. Was able to get a full refund.

The key is patients and regular communication.

Installed the sway bar and a new 45 gallon transfer tank in the new truck.
