Ford TPMS

We just purchased a 2020 Fort F350 and was wondering if anyone has used the Ford OEM system successfully on a Pinnacle? Basically, should I try to integrate it with the Ford OEM system, which seems to be the easiest, or buy an after market stand-a-lone system? Thoughts? Thanks

We have a 2019 F350 and looked at this. We have the TPMS for the truck itself but the hardware would have cost $600 or so from Ford to add the capability to monitor the Pinnacle.

We ended up choosing the TST system for TPMS sold by TechnoRV.com for about $350 something. We are really happy with it. The fact that it is not integrated with the Ford Dashboard is not a problem at all. The little display monitor, about the size of a deck of cards, fits in little center console cubby where the USB ports are just like it was made for it.

Last fall we were neighbors at a CG with a couple that had our identical truck and the husband was more knowledgeable about some of the sub-systems of the truck than I was. He was not happy with the hard-coded alarm thresholds of the TPMS- he felt the low pressure was set too low.

The TST system allows us to custom adjust all high and low pressure and temperature alarm thresholds on a per-axle basis. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I never had to install the included signal booster/ repeater in order to get a reading in the truck. I just had to add "turn on TPMS monitor" early on to the departure checklist since it takes about 5-8 minutes for the sensors to synch up.

Good luck with your rig. We love the truck and we both enjoy driving it.

Added the Ford TPMS to our Eagle. Kind of a pain to get the harness routed through the goose neck area and down underneath to where the receiver needed to be installed. It works well and is very consistent but doesn’t give a reading until you have driven a short distance.
