Freezer drops in temperature while towing

Any ideas why our freezer warms up to 16* F while the refrigerator held steady 33*F while towing for a five hour trip?

I have been asking that for a year. I am assuming that you have the Frigidaire residential? The best reason I can come up reason is that the sensor's compressor is in the fridge portion of the unit and if the fridge isn't running the freezer doesn't run either? I could very well be wrong (I am married so have been wrong more often than not).

I have the Frigidaire and my longest tow has been 7 hrs. When I left it was on -6 deg and 34 deg. When I stopped it was still -6 and 34. Have you checked your hot leg from your tow vehicle to make sure it's charging while towing?

Probably due to voltage drop. If the inverter isn't providing enough watts/volts the fridge would loose efficiency. The freezer is the hardest half to keep cold.
