Exclamation Fresh water problem

Hi everyone,

I have a Jayco Skylark. Just got back from a camping trip where I was hooked up to a park hydrant. When we were getting ready to break camp, I put about five gallons of water into my fresh water tank. I had disconnected the water from the hydrant. I went inside and turned on the pump and nothing would pump. I then put the hose to fill the system in a water jug, turn the valve to let it suck out of the jug and the pump worked just fine. When I closed the valve for the hose, no water would pump from the fresh water tank. Ideas?

I am assuming when you say suck out of the hose, you are talking about using the antifreeze hose.

Did you confirm the valve to the fresh water tank is open?

I know the new TTs have three way valves now and things are plumbed a little differently, but I would assume yours is plumbed like my TT. To pump from the antifreeze hose, the valve to the FW tank should be closed and the antifreeze pickup valve should be open. the opposite is true to pump from the FW tank. I would check the valves. You might have a broken valve to the FW tank.

Or maybe you just need to put in more water. 5 gal isn't much and it might be still sucking air.
