Fresh Water Sanitize

I have our new 5er home and am going through everything to make sure it all works ok. Fresh Water has a plastic , chemical smell to it and i would recommend anyone with a new unit to Sanitize the system .

Yup, jayco also recommends to sanitize at the start and end of your camping season.

We are on our first trip with our trailer and full hookups. Got a filter that hooks up at the spigot. Our water is really cloudy and doesn't taste right. Ran water through filter for a while first too. Haven't sanitized system yet. Could that be what the problem is? When we dry camped the first time out water from tank didn't come out cloudy though.

It may be the water source contains particulates that are small enough to pass through the filter media. If you draw a sample in a clear glass container and set it on the counter, does it clear up after a while?

I let the sanitizing solution sit in the system overnight. I am happy to say that I only had to rinse the system out once. No more bleach smell and no more chemical smells. It was actually quite simple.
