Fresh water system

Just wondering if there is a way to bypass the fresh water jug setup on my North Point and get ice and fridge water directly from my city water source?

I just finished this mod the other day. Fairly easy if you have the tools and have worked with Pex before. The fridge water feed for ours came up under the island, behind a panel, in the cabinet to the left of the sink. It is the 1/2" blue pex that is connected to the 1/4 white tubing. I cut a tee into the line feeding the sink and tied the fridge water line into that.

Unhappy north point fresh water

Thanks for the reply. Does anyone else find this jug setup more of a pain than a help?

Ours works great, seems to obviate the need to add fancy filters to the city water. We have had a similar system at home for 20+ years, with a sink dispenser and a line to the fridge. Other than having to change the bottle, I see little downside. I had to replace it for the first time on our Myrtle beach trip last month, and we were headed to the grocery store anyway, so it was a non issue.

On ours I just get in the compartment and refill the 5 gallon jug with 1 gallon jugs of water that I refill at the store. I have 3 jugs and find that is easier than hulking the 5 gallon jug around. When it gets to about half I top it off.

Great idea, and certainly lighter

My 17 Northpoint has the residential fridge with the water/ice. It doesnt have the jug under the sink, that wasn't an option back then. The water line is tapped right into the main cold water line of the trailer. My fridge has a replaceable filter built in it and the trailer has a filter system. I drink water straight out of the fridge and dont notice any difference between that and jug water. But, I drink water out of the tap, out of a garden hose and have drank straight out of a lake in northern Quebec before too, so... lol!
When I saw the jug under the sink option when it was first offered, the first thing I thought of is how much of a pia that's gonna be replacing and/or refilling that jug. When I go camping or travelling, i want to relax and enjoy. It's bad enough having to deal with the normal repair and maintenance issues of these things, i don't need or want to have another issue like an empty water jug under the sink at the most inopportune time. Because you know that's when it'll happen. It's like the doorbell ringing when your sitting on the ole porcelain throne! It never fails! Lol!!
