Fresh Water Tank Filling

The fresh water tank on our 2017 Jayco HT 28.5rsts fills automatically whenever we're connected to city water. I'm sure there's a valve somewhere we need to turn to block the water from filling that tank. Any suggestions?

We have a 2017 Eagle HT 27.5RKDS. Our valve is in the Utility Center on the side of the R/V:

If the valve is in the correct position, the water pump check valve could be bad allowing city water to flow through the pump and into the fresh water tank. This would be a warranty issue.

X2 on the check valve.

When this happened to me it was the water inlet selector valve that failed.

Thanks. We've looked at this panel and our level is straight up and down, so the fresh water tank shouldn't be filling. It must be an internal problem. We'll check with the dealer.

Potentially a stupid response, but if the trailer has a winterizer kit on it could the valves on that be opened incorrectly? I know my trailer has directions for sucking water from a pitcher to go directly into the tank.. maybe those are not in the correct positions and water is getting in that way?

I think I'm experiencing the same issue. I have noticed that our fresh water tank fills when it shouldn't as well. Valve is in th correct position.

Yep, my new trailer does that too. It is the backflow preventer in the water pump. To check set up your system to run with the water pump. See how long it takes for the water pump to recycle (with closed faucets). Mine recycles two or three times in the 10min after turning off a faucet.

Good question but wrong sub-system. If the winterizing valves are positioned wrong, you get no water delivery when the pump is running. Air is delivered if you are still in the winterizing mode. The pump cavitates if both valves are closed.
