Fridge question. I Have not seen this one.

OK! 1 month old Pinnacle with Whirlpool residential Fridge.
I have gone to open the door and it is ICE cold on the outside! So today I feel it again and start playing with it. I open and close the doors and when the freezer section is closed and you close the fridge door it causes the freezer door to pop open a tiny bit. causing the stainless steel to get ice cold. Trailer is level and doors close fine. Problem is when you close the fridge door.
Thoughts?

My smart butt answer is to just not open the fridge door anymore.

Check the seal around the freezer door for cracks/tears/holes...sounds like the seal isn’t seating properly. If nothing found, clean the seal real good and put some silicone on a rag and rub the entire seal.

Can’t say it’ll work, but it’s easy and worth a try.

Its a brand new unit. 1 month old and has done it since new. Seals are good. Freezer door closes fine. Just acts like when you close the fridge door it puffs air into the freezer and causes the freezer door to open.

Not much help, but...

Years ago we had a fridge in our S&B house that did that when the fridge door was closed quickly. We just developed the habit of not letting the lower door close too fast and usually pressed both doors closed when we walked by. We had children at the time so, unfortunately, the freezer door was frequently leaking.

As I said, not much help.

Our residential fridge doesn't do that. Contact Whirlpool and ask a technician. If it's not supposed to do that than whatever is wrong with it should be covered under warranty. Since they share the same compressor there is probably either missing insulation or an opening somewhere that is allowing the compressed air from closing the fridge door to force the freezer door open. That's a lot of air!! Those doors seal very tightly. Definitely something wrong.

priv8pilot, just a wild guess, but there is an air filter in the fridge on the left hand side. Check to make sure there is indeed a air filter in place. Again just a guess!
