Frigidaire ice maker

Anyone ever had a problem with their ice maker NOT making ice?

First time ever it isn’t making ice.

I did 1 time...that’s when I learned to push the cycle button once I hit water flowing thru the line. Otherwise you may have devolved a kink in the line. Does the water work?

Yeah water works, changed fridge filter, got all air out of line
Never ever had to do anything to get it to work before.
Held on button for 15 sec like it says to do

When my fridge was brand new in the brand new trailer, the ice maker didn't work. Apparently the contraption that encompasses the rotating ice cube tray was no good. Warranty covered it and the repair guy changed it in less than 5 minutes.

Most likely it is frozen up in the chute where the water falls into the ice trays.
I had to aim hair dryer at the hole for about 3 minutes.
I think it has done it twice.

That’s about the only thing I haven’t tried. I guess I will try it.

How many actually turn their ice maker to off when you leave a campsite?

I never have before, but will probably from now on.

I believe low water pressure makes it happen because the water will dribble out. Then a little bit freezes.
After I got a higher flow fridge filter it hasent happened again.
But maybe just my imagination.

I use to have small ice cubes before I got this filter. Now I have a good sized cube and the water fills cups much faster. And I’m almost positive I’ve never had the frozen water ice filler again.
I also have a blank filter too. I was going to just use the blank one and let the whole house filter do the work, but this filter didn’t decrease the pressure much and it filters more than just the whole house.
Now I just put the blank filter in to winterize and blow air through the fridge lines.
I guess you don’t have to worry about that. Grrrrrr.

I had the same thing happen this week. Thanks to you guys i got it going again quickly!

I also always turn mine off when i head home from camping. Dump the remaining ice down the toilet most times to potential help clean the sensors on the ride home. At least if i can remember too......

for us that have the res fridge. If you leave the ice maker on with power thru the inverter, do you also leave the FW pump on? Wouldn't this negate the freeze over?

Or, do you turn the inverter off and shutdown the ice maker?

If you want ice you would have to leave the ice maker, pump, and inverter on while traveling or not on shore power/generator and are only using water from your fresh water tank. I just turn my ice maker off when i know i will not need ice made which is when i travel and or generally when i am not hooked to a water supply. I also don’t travel with my water pump on in case a pipe comes loose or faucet get bounced open.

I never turn off my inverter. It stays on all the time but i also don’t have to store the unit anywhere except my house or a campground.

I experience the same issue and found the chute to be frozen, The reason was the water pump was not ON when I started the fridge and by the time I turned the water pump ON the water line in the freezer was frozen.

Note to self: make sure the water pump is on to pressurize the line before turning the fridge on.
